Hello from Portland
Posted by Codeman on Wednesday, October 17, 2018 12:37 PM

Hey all. Just getting back into modeling after years away from it. Love doing aircraft, especially now that I’m a mechanic on F-15s. Looking forward to learning new tips and tricks and sharing what I make.

Well;

    Either Portland is okay with me . Oh , By the way I love F-15 Strike Eagles . The only thing I don't mount is conformal fuel tanks . With that I say " Welcome Aboard "

The Strike Eagles are pretty awesome. I work on the F-15C models so my first couple builds are going to be ones from Oregon. The Revell kit with the awesome decals (the real paint job is much cooler) and then I got some custom decals for the bird I’m actually on.

Welcome from about 90 miles south.....Since you work on the Eagles up there, you might be interested in a Revell kit of the "C".  Has Oregon Guard decals, but for a bird out of K-Falls.  Got mine from Hobby Lobby, but should be available from the bay or maybe Tammy's in Beaverton.

If you get it, the fuselage needs to be glued up in segments and fiddled with some.

Hey gold hammer. That’s actually what I’m working on now. I can tell the fuselage is gonna be a pain in the butt. I’ll post some pics once I get some progress on it.

It's not too bad if you take it in short segments and hold til dry.  I had to get another kit after i tried to do it in one go.

Perfect Plastic Putty is your friend on this one.
