Greetings all -

Kind of sort of new modeler here. been doing structures for N Scale for a while but started with modeling in general.

Tackling Tamiya's 1/48 F14A as my first build.

Will be looking for tips and tricks for that build.

Thanks all.

Welcome to the forum, Mike!

I live in Bethlehem, but I grew up in Harleysville, went to Souderton (Go Big Red!).

There are a couple of clubs in the area that might interest you, too.

One is the Delaware Valley Scale Modelers.  They meet on the first Friday of every month, at Artisans Hall on the Boulevard.  They've been meeting via Zoom since the lockdowns started.  Their website is https://www.dvsm.org/index.html, and they have a Facebook group that they use as a forum.

The other one is the Lehigh ValleyScale Modelers.  They meet every other Wednesday (an aggressive schedule) at the Catasauqua Borough Hall, in Catasauqua, just above Allentown.  Also meeting via Zoom since the lockdowns started.  No website, but they also use a Facebook group as their forum.

There used to be an informal modeler's group in Bucks, too; I think they used to meet at Herb's in Doylestown, till he closed.  Now, I think they meet online, and at different people's homes.

Anyway, I look forward to seeing your builds, wherever you may post or show them!

Best regards,

Brad

This is fantastic. Thanks for this. All of this right in my area. And don't remind me about Herbs. I still cry over that. I didn't even have to buy anything - I could just get lost for hours thinking about what I was going to buy.

I've got some work on my jet exhaust up in the Airplane forum right now. Was struggling.

Why LHS couldn't pay the rent. Guilty as charged.

Welcome! Sounds like youve made connections already.

Well, welcome!  I am a member of the Lehigh Valley group (at least via the Facebook group) But I don't get on the zoom calls much, because they meet and I usually have a cubscout thing those same nights...I'm cubmaster of Hatboro's cub pack.

Can't wait to check out some of your work!
