Hello from Maine
Posted by Anonymous on Sunday, March 9, 2003 2:30 AM
Hi everyone and thanks to all those responsible for this forum..

Hobby shops are to Maine what water is to the Sahara....Therefore I rely on ebay and the Squadron and Micro Mark to keep me in business.
I have been modeling since before I could tie my shoes although you may doubt that if you could see some of my completed projects...I'm always learning by my mistakes it seemsBig Smile [:D]
I am well into my 40s now and like most of you I have more kits reposing in my basement than I will ever have time to get toSad [:(]
Aircraft are my #1 interest...I recently finished a B17f in 1/72nd scale which actually turned out pretty well..(It should have, I started the darn thing 2 1/2 years ago!)
When I'm not inflicting damage to plastic I like to play Combat Flight Sim on "the zone" and skimming around the net searching for anything that might help me with my modeling skills or lack thereof....
Looking forward to learning from you all
Regards,
Merlin

Hello merlin V1650 ...

A warm "unofficial" welcome to the FSM community modeling forum(s)! I truely hope that you can visit often, read alot, post alot and share your hobby with the rest of us. I feel certain that we are all still learning ... I know that I am! Smile [:)]

It would appear from your posting of introduction ... that the great state of Maine suffers from a lack of hobby shops ... praise be to the plastic gods for the internet and those 21st century entrepreneurs that have seen the need and filled it so well. Tongue [:P]

Again, welcome enjoy your visits here and have fun! Approve [^]

Welcome merlin v1650,

considering that Maine has only 3 good months out of the year, You must get a lot of modeling done! Just kidding. The situation isn't much different down here in Massachusetts. Not too many good hobby shops around. Too me a good shop is one that has a good selection of plastic kits, paints, aftermarket stuff, reference material, tools and NO RC STUFF.

Glad to have you here!
