“Cutting the space budget really restores my faith in humanity.  It eliminates dreams, goals,
and ideals and lets us get straight to the business of hate, debauchery, and self-annihilation.”

Greetings from Houston, where we are currently shoveling out from under mounds of tree pollen.

I am a (yet another) returning modeler.  50 years old, started when I was about 8.  Back then I was only into the space program models (Saturn V, command module, lunar lander): boy were those fun!  Tried a little bit of all kinds of kits the next 5 years or so (ships, armor, cars, aircraft....).  Settled into primarily aircraft and autos by late teens.  Since then I've picked it back up a few times.  Last kits I did were 48th scale about 6 years ago, both WWII aircraft.

Currently have a stash of 5 aircraft kits, a snap-tite space shuttle, a Shelby Cobra, and a Yamaha MotoGP bike.  Think I've chosen the Tamiya 1/48th Japanese Dinah as the first one to get back in.  I don't have a dedicated bench, but a big ol' desk in my study will serve part-time duty just fine.  Still have a fair set of tools, and most of my paint inventory is still functional.  Don't have an airbrush, so may ask Santa for one.

This should be a lot of fun!  Looking forward to sponging up a bunch of the great body of knowledge that is resident here.

Alan
