That was it! Unfortunately, I pressed it one too many times and the weapons went off prematurely sending the stricken craft plummeting downwards on my moms freshly waxed wood floors. There were no survivors. Dead [xx(]

Thanks for the welcome Robert and Dan. It's good to be here. Come to think of it, it's good to be anywhere. Dan, that would'nt have been a Monogram B-58? You press a button by the cockpit hatches and drop the weapons package. That was a fun kit.Tongue [:P]

Again thanks for the welcome

Welcome John...

I started out the same way in model building, watching my dad and older brother build a vast armada of aircraft in different scales. My dad was in the Army and we lived in Germany for most of my childhood years. The first aircraft I could remember him building was the B-58 Hustler...what a beaut! Anyways, enough about me, I hope you enjoy yourself here, and once again ....welcome. Cool [8D]

Regards, Dan

Hello, I'm John (aka RogueJ). I am a resident of NW Ohio. I got my start in building models by watching my father build. I remember as a kid on my knees by my father's chair watching him assemble miltary aircraft. He would sit there with a board across his recliner putting together Revell or Monogram WW 2 fighters, later to hung on strings in my brother's and my room. My older brother soon began to follow Dad in building. As I was still to young myself he would occassionally build things for me; Aurora's Seaview, Ertl's TOS Enterprise come to mind. Both first issue. Finally, I got old enought to pick up a tube of glue and begin myself. I started out with Aurora monster and superhero kits. Slapping them together and throwing on some paint. I eventually moved on to military aircraft. Like my father, I prefered WW2 period aircraft. I've been a subscriber to FSM since it first hit the shelves. Then...Star Wars. I've always been a fan of Sci-fi and when more and more Sci-fi kits appeared I moved over to them and have been building Sci-fi ever since. I've also branched into doing figure and garage kits. I am a regular attender of "Wonderfest". If you haven't heard of "Wonderfest", it is the largest show focused on Sci-fi and figures in the nation. It is held in Louisville, KY every year, this year on June 7-8. If you are at all interested in this segment of the hobby, it's well worth checking out. There are seminar on various subject to improve your building skills, guest speakers from the genre, one of the largest vendor rooms I've ever seen and a superb model contest.

Well, this has been a little long winded, but I just wanted to introduce myself to the community. I'll be checking in from time to time. Hopefully to chat, gain new skills and knowledge and maybe help someone else if I can.
