Howdy !

I built a few of the Estes rockets, waaaaaaaay back in 1977 . The last one was a duel stage thing of beauty ! The first (and only ) time it flew.... it went up--- up --- up---- and neither stage deployed ! It came down --- down --- down --- and into a VERY TALL tree. ( no hope of climbing up after it )  I "visited" it breifly in 1982 ..... yep! still there !

Welcome to FSM.

Dont worry about the thumbprint, paint it Rust , and call it "Battle Damage"

Welcome to the Forums Mike! Glad to have you aboard.

You have come to the right place. The members here are very knowledgeable and ready to help out with any questions/problems that you might have. Just post the question in the section related to your question and you will get all the help that you need. I learn something new almost every day.

I've been building models of all types for 71 of my 77 years along with the other usual hobbies of R/C planes, sail boats & cars, rockets, trains, hunting & target shooting, and others. My favories are WWI & WWII planes followed by sailing ships. I'll build anything that strikes my fancy and my wallet says OK.

Enjoy. Don't be afraid to ask for help. We've all been there at one time or another. Don't forget to post pics of your builds.

Building some models after many years

I started building aircraft and ship models in the late 50s thru the mid 60s. I got into building flying model rockets in the early 60s. When my son was born in 1987 I got back into building model aircraft models an flying high power model rockets in the 90s. I had purchased some of each by the late 90s which have sat in my attic for yearsand now that I have more time I am starting to build them. Many things have changed and I am now trying to figure out the best way to build and paint them.
