Back in the game
Posted by KUBOB on Sunday, February 9, 2020 5:29 PM

Back in the game after decades away from it. When I last built a model all that was around was Testors glue and paints, Xacto knife set, and Polly paints were a cool new thing.

Starting off on the Revell 1/48 B-17G, not doing any detail sets since my real goal is to build a Naked Fanny series, all the aircraft from NKP Thailand were my Dad was based.

Learning how to use an airbrush, Future and Eduard masks on this kit.

Already made a minor mistake in Zinc Chromating the interior but was excuse to try 1st airbrush attempt.

Will post more as I get her built, ultimate goal is a "Bombing Up" diorama using just the kit parts and a base I'll build next.

On the Bench: Monogram 1/72 HU-16B (Gawd, the rivets!)

On the Shelf: Entire Naked Fanny (NKP Thailand aircraft) series

Welcome to the Forums! Glad to have you aboard.

You got here the same way as a lot of the members. If you have any questions/problems just ask. That's what we're here for. We love to see pics of members builds.

Welcome to the forums!  I look forward to seeing your work on that B-17G, which is a good kit, despite its age, and builds into a nice model without any aftermarket stuff.

It's really Monogram's kit, by the way (member of the Monogram Mafia here) Wink

I had 2 photos on my initial post but they aren't showing up. Is there a tutorial on adding photos? I didn't see one in the Rules set of posts.

Yeah, there won't be "how-to" info in the Rules, but if you look in the Forum Technical Assistance subforum:

you'll find a lot of threads on how to post photos.

I use a third-party hosting site, PostImage.  I upload and store photo files there, and the site generates link URLs that I can paste into posts around the Internet.  There are other, similar services, so there is a good selection to choose from.

Doesn't appear you have been away for long.  Nice work on a clean build and base.

Will look forward to the NKP builds...what time frame are you looking at for what was there?

KUBOB

Finished:

Great finish!

Going forward, though, you might want to post your finished builds in the relevant forums, so they're not buried here in the Welcome forum.  You'll get better visibility.
