The Booklet of General Plans is not suitable for plans with hull lines, etc, but they should be good for looking the ship over, and downloads for free here.
Just for a suggestion, a converted Destroyer Escort would only be half the size of the APA. Take a look at the APD that is also provided on that page.

The NavSource Photo Archive lists about 200 APA's; and two different Marks of LCT's.

In Morrison's recommended scale of 1:48 a bare LCT-6 hull from Loyalhanna Dockyard runs $160.00. That is no deck, no running gear, no fittings.

Compare that with a LSM a larger, but similar effort to the LCT.. The hull runs $195.00, but the hull with fittings runs $650.00
You didn't specify which class APA you wished to built, but here's a Liberty hull & fittings kit in 1:96 (half the scale of 1:48 - a common ship model scale). Hull, fittings, plans -- $775.00

Now, an APA at that scale will be kinda big, like 15 feet long. An LCT, 6 or 7 feet long.
I'm assuming you are picking an armor scale for figures and vehicles. Recently a lot has become available in 1/48, and even a better selection in 1/72, as well.
There are a lot more ship fittings available in those, and smaller scales.
