...I make automata. For those unfamiliar with this art form, they are mechanically manipulated “scenes” which, in my case at least, tell a very short story about our lives which I create by observation of we humans, our habits, idiosynchrasies, fears and joys. Some creators make movable toys...

That sounds interesting!  I look forward to seeing your work.

Best regards,

I came across this site while searching for information about the shelf life of plaster, and just lke that, found what I was looking for. And, it seems that there is much much more valuable information that would assist my works.

I make automata. For those unfamiliar with this art form, they are mechanically manipulated “scenes” which, in my case at least, tell a very short story about our lives which I create by observation of we humans, our habits, idiosynchrasies, fears and joys. Some creators make movable toys.

Recently, I decided that my scenes need to look much better, and so the search for techniques used by diorama makers. I hope to create a scene for a current work learnign from the members.

Cheers to all from Sydney !
