I guess what I thought was just an overview of the process is the syep by step instructions.  I am making great progress and now need to get some additional tools. I am quite pleased with my efforts so far.

Question;

    Did you buy it from a store or an individual? If an individual you may have to seek out the instructions from one of our wood boat builders. Other than that, if bought from a store and NOT a Consignment item they should make it good if they want more of your business!

Thanks! I am making good progress so far. It’s a wooden model. I actually bought 2 of the same item in order to have back up parts. The second one just came, no instructions and somebody had started it. Which I was not pleased about and then I saw what a great job they did taking the rough cut hull and finishing it. Now I just need to buy some more tools.

JC1113

Where the nights will be long and the days cold.  Time for a new hobby.  Been wanting to model for a while.  1 quick question. My first kit is a Scintific Models boat I bought on eBay.  It did it not have detailed instructions. Just a booklet giving and overview of various parts and where they go.  Is this all I have to go on?

Welcome to the forum and to scale modeling!

I'll second Jim's advice about the Ships forum, but add that you might want to have a look at www.scalemates.com.  It's an online source for info about various kits, maintained by its members.  You can find instructions for some kits at Scalemates, provided someone has taken the time to scan and upload them.

Also, to clarify, is your kit a plastic kit or a wooden kit?  The Scientific that I'm thinking of made wooden kits.  That booklet might be the only instructions there are for that kit.

But ask in the Ships forum, and have a look at Scalemates.

I look forward to seeing that boat finish!

Best regards,

Brad

Welcome to the Forums! Glad to have you aboard.

There should have been a set of instructions in with the kit. If you go to the "Ships" section of the forums, someone there should be able to help you. Someone might be able to make a copy of their set and email them to you. Or they may be able to tell you where to go to get a set from the manufacturer.

Hope that this helps.
