Hi from Scotland
Posted by Rob.T. on Wednesday, November 18, 2020 5:16 AM

Hi Everyone Smile

Just got bk into modelling in the last 8 months or so after a hiatus of about 35yrs.

I have built a lot of kits in my time, mostly Airfix or Revell here in the UK.

My Preferences are building Sailing ships/Galleons, albeit I have built planes, tanks and figures in the past.

Think my first kit was either Hms Suffolk or Campbelltown by Airfix, the shipping preference i was guided into by my late father who was in the Merchant Navy, fondly remembering how we watched Classic films like the Sea Hawk and Mutiny on the Bounty etc..

Wishing everyone the best of health and happiness through these tough Covid times.

Staysafe everyone

Rob.

Hello and welcome aboard Rob, as you know by now we have new kits, new materials, new tools and new methods. There is so many changes in our hobby you can hardly keep up. In addition to the Ships Forum check out the Group Builds where you will find an interesting array of topics. Also look to see where members live and what they say about themselves in the profile. You may be surprised at how geographically broad and diverse our membership is after 35 years. Our membership is represented in 80 countries.

Thanks again to Everyone for their Warm Welcome wishes.

Just on another note, where is the appropriate thread(not wanting to post on the wrong one I.e. Finished or WIP) to list a couple of Finished kits I've done since March.

Thanks again

Cheers! Smile

Hi Rob! Welcome to the Forums. Glad to have you aboard.

Sailing ships are #2 on my list of favorite builds as you can see from my avatar. #1 on my list are WWI & WWII planes.

Been building since 1946 (6 years old) and never stopped. Lots of great people on the forums that are very knowledgeable and ready to help with questions/problems.

Hi! Welcome! I just came back myself after a few years away. It's good to see a shipbuilder, I've been thinking about building an LCT in 1/16 scale and I'm sure at some point I'll need some help. Wink
