Hello from N. Texas
Posted by Xraylizard on Sunday, November 22, 2020 3:31 PM

Hello All;

Looking forward to spending time building, reading, making a few net freinds.  Propeller

Last time I poked around here was 2008-2009.

Interests are Air and Armor.  Thinking of doing more Armor, Wheeled units. Like the Skoda Turtle ! It is beautiful in the eyes of it's Mother haha.

Have a Tam B1 Bis that was never 98.59% completed, and "due to life things" the remaining parts - tracks and decals gone, but found some on the Bay.

Still missing three small parts... hmm maybe time to practice battle damage lol!

On the bench is a Hasegawa JU87G-2 Tank Buster.

Also build model rockets.

best regards,

Bryan

Welcome!

Lots of North Texans here.  This native Texan resides in Katy, right outside of Houston.

The same franchisee who owns the Lewisville store also owns Hurst, east Dallas, and IIRC Plano.  Also owns Wild Bills Hobby in Irving.   He has been responsive to the hobbiest's needs in the DFW area (within the limitations of the must-carry requirements of HT corporate.

Yes.  A long time hobby shop which was big in Lionel, die cast, good plastic, and RC cars.   It even had a RC dirt track in the back yard.  Shady Grove Road west of loop 12 in Irving

A bit over a year back the DFW HobbyTown franchisee purchased Wild Bill's, largely due to the RC track.  He is using the Hobby Town name but has been able to avoid much of the corporate gack overload

Look for a lot of RC, paint, and some plastic - not as extensive as before

Building a kit from your stash is like cutting a head off a Hydra, two more take it's place.

Nice, i built both the 48th and 32nd a few years back. The 48th was a much nicer kit to put together. Was my one and only venture into that scale.
