When I worked for General Dynamics one of my assignments was to photograph every damn piece of an M1A1 for a maintenance trainer.

It was kinda funny - showed up at the Aberdeen Proving Grounds,  told the NCO in charge we have to completey dismantle one of his tanks.  His response was NO *** Way!  But I was accompanied by a Colonel

They had that Lycoming AGT1500 engine out in less than an hour

I'll try to share.  I was a professional photographer for 25 years. Was a staff photographer for General Dynamics and later was the photography/graphic arts  manager for the U.S. Naval Submarine Base, New London.  Believe it or not, I no longer own a camera

My last model was a F14 Tomcat. Painted that mostly with "rattle cans".

Have to admit I was disappointed in the model when it arrived.  Thought it was going to be bigger than it truly is.

Perhaps starting out again on a small model is a good thing

Welcome. That'll be a very nice model, well engineered, nice detail and an attractive result. When i built the Kagero, I was able to get the whole thing done with Tamiya Hull Red, Kure gray, Deck tan and Linoleum, all in rattle cans.

Howdy Baron, I used to know a lot of folks from Bethlehem.  I retired from ABB, Inc who closed their Bethlehem plant and many of those folks moved down to Florida.

I'm originally from Pittsburgh

Still waiting on paints and brushes to be delivered. Most likely will start the build after the first of the year

Howdy All.  My name is Ed Geary, I live in Clermont, Florida.  I'm a retired Mechanical Designer who worked for ABB, Inc in the Research & Development Dept for Outdoor Products, Power Transmission and Distribution 

My wife asked me what I wanted for Christmas - I wanted to start building models again. Due to the corona stuff I'm tired of spending my days reading books and being told what to do by my 2 Border Collies. 

Last Time I built models was back in 1983. 

My first build will be a Tamiya 1/350 scale Japanese Navy Destroyer Yukikaze 

Welcome back to the hobby and welcome to the forum, Ed!  I hope you start a build thread for your Yukikaze, I look forward to seeing it.

Hi Ed! Welcome to the Forums! Glad to have you aboard.

Lots of great members here that are very knowledgeable and ready to help you with any questions/problems. I've been building for 74 of my 80 years and have loved every minute of it. Well, there was that one time back in ................ I build whatever strikes my fancy at the time and my wallet says OK. My favorites are WWI & WWII planes followed by sailing ships as you can see by my avatar.
