Hey all. Some of you might know me, as the Teenage Modeler. But if not, then, continue reading more, because I will tell you my story.
I had always been a fan of scale models as long as I have been alive. I always see my dad's models' boxes on the shelves, dusted. I can see Italeri, Tamiya, Revell, Hasegawa, and many others. I was always interested as to what it is, and what it looks like.
Fast forward, when I was around 9, my parents bought me a 1/72 Tamiya Sukhoi Su-34 Strike Flanker. I have never been more happier in my life. I tried building it with my dad together, but it got thrown away because it was mistaken as trash ! Anyway, I built another model when I was 10 years old, the F 15-C Eagle, which turned out ok. I used Aquarelle paints, which ended up messy beyond belief. But, I was satisfied on what I built.
Anyway, fast forward when I was 12, I built my first (serious) scale model. It turned out WAY better than I expected . It was an A6M3 1/48 Zero by Tamiya (which is my profile picture). After years of research, and videos of techniques, and watching Plasmo, it turned out great. I did well airbrushing it outside.
Anyway, me, 14 years old now, is currently building a 1/25 Chevy Corvette 1996. I am excited, but I got grumpy, because I lost one of 4 tires, and the rims, which I now have to find, which could be anywhere. Anyway, wish me luck.
Now that you know my story, you know a little bit about me. I want to get good at scale models. Finding this forum was one of the best decisions I made, because so many people just like me are asking the same questions, techniques, tips, and pieces of advice, which I never would have got if I have not found this website.
