Back in the saddle for the first time in 25 years
Posted by Monogram Madness on Sunday, January 9, 2022 10:53 PM

Hey Everyone,

Just wanted to say hello and intorduce myself.  Ive been watching the forum for the past couple of months as i get my feet back into modeling.  Im back into the hobby after a 25 year break as life did its thing.  My main intrest is 48 scale warbirds and im having a ball picking up the Monogram/Revell kits from my youth.  My stash is already so big its obscene...but thats the way it goes LOL.

Anyways I live in Northern Michigan and am married and have a wonderfull daughter.   Im really looking forward to getting to know everyone.  This group has already been such a huge help I cant put it into words.  SO many things have changed since I got out of this hobby prior to highschool.  The methods, materials, paint types etc are all new to me.  Its a definite learning curve but one thing ive really noticed is that modelers are much more helpfull these days.  They could be pretty cold in the 80s and early 90s prior to the internet.

Anyways Ive already ruined one kit...but learned a ton.  Ive got 2 going currently and all things considered they are going well!

See everyone around!

Perfection is having fun and relaxing...not building the perfect model.

Welcome to the forum!  Always great to have a "Yooper" join us.  I'm from down south of you in Oshkosh, WI, enjoying our latest warm spell(negative 10 degrees outside today)  Like you, I enjoy building the kits from my youth, especially the Monogram and Revell WWII planes, armor, and ships.  Your questions will be answered and advice given freely on this forum.  Enjoy your time at the workbench and stay warm.

Welcome back to the hobby and welcome to the forum, MM!  I'm a fan of classic Monogram 1/48 scale kits, too, and I look forward to seeing your builds!

Best regards,
Brad

Hi MM! Welcome to the Forums! Glad to have you aboard.

You've come to the right place. Very knowledgeable members here that are also ready to help with any questions/problems that you might have.

I started in 1946 (6 yrs. old) and never stopped. My favorites are WWI & WWII aircraft followed by sailing ships. Learned a lot from the members here and I'm still learning.

Enjoy!
