VMB413;

 Welcome and salutations: Pleased to have another B-25 lover aboard.  Owned and Flew one at least thirty five years ago. Have since sold it. Loved the history of the bird and it's quirks.

  You will find Advice and Praise as well as everything else right here. Glad ya could make it! Tanker-Builder

Hi, Baron. Yes! My grandfather was indeed in VMB413. In preparing for my build, I just discovered that the squadron was the first to fly PBY's for the Marines. It makes me all the more excited to dive in!

Welcome back to the hobby and welcome to the forum, J!

My grandfather flew B-25's in the Pacific theatre during WWII. Since I was never able to meet him, I've always had an interest in WWII aircraft. I just purchased a B-25 kit to dive back into building and would love to connect with other aircraft enthusiasts...

Was your grandfather in VMB-413 in the war?  Which kit did you get?  I look forward to seeing your build!

Best regards,

Brad

Welcome to the forums.  You'll find plenty of help friendly here.

My Father flew C-47s for a time in WWII until he got grounded and I had to ride on one during VIetnam for a trip to Bangkok.  Deffinately an experience to remember.

If you have any questions concerning history of a subject, details, or problems, just ask.

Welcome aboard.  A friend of mine's grand father was co-pilot flying TNT on the Doolittle raid.  I built the Accurate Miniatures Doolittle raider B-25B kit for him with his grandfather's markings.  Nice kit.  Which kit/scale did you get?

Thanks,

John

Hello!

Hello! I recently happened upon some captivating model builders on YouTube. Watching the Inner Nerd work his magic on a few aircraft models compelled me to dive back into the hobby I loved as a kid. Now that I'm older and have developed far more patience than I had as a boy, I'm looking forward to building some skills and investing time into an activity other than social media. I'm very much a novice and look forward to learning about the hobby from more seasoned builders. Open to suggestions, looking for advice (especially on what I should buy to start), and hoping to find a great community here.

My grandfather flew B-25's in the Pacific theatre during WWII. Since I was never able to meet him, I've always had an interest in WWII aircraft. I just purchased a B-25 kit to dive back into building and would love to connect with other aircraft enthusiasts.

Thanks for having me here. It may be a while before I add any value to these forums, but rest assured that I'll be soaking up as much as I can. Happy building!
