Hi everyone;

My name is Ken, my handle is Deja-view, and my delusion is that I'll actually finish all the models I have...or even the ones I've started.  I have built plastiic everything since I was about 10.  You know how it goes: pretty crude at first, building skills and collecting stuff to build along the way.  60+ years has added up to a LOT of stuff.  I've won my share of contests, even got a few "Best of Show" cars in magazines.  Trophies sit in boxes, now. :(  I started with a lot of military models...ones that are considered collectible now.  Blew or shot most of them up, ya know.  Ships, airplanes, rocket ships in the late 1950s, big "tall ships" and battleships, loved them all.  Now, mostly large scale cars.  Started with 1/24, won a regional Revell National contest in 1964 (still have the car and the trophy), graduated to large scale and lots of detail and polished paint jobs.  At least I took pics of the the builds for the past 35+ or so years but most older pics before digital cameras/phones are not very good.  Anyway, still love the challenge of creating my own unique builds, and collecting and/or modifying very detailed diecast cars.  So, too much boring stuff here, but suffice it to say, I'm a builder until death no matter how shaky my hands get. ;)  I hope I can contribute something to some of you.

Hi Ken! Welcome to the Forums! Glad to have you aboard.

Welcome to the club. I'm 82 and have been building all types of models for 76 of those years. You name it and I've built it (at least once). My favorites are WWI & WWII planes followed by sailing ships. Have a stash that will keep me busy for at least until the Man Upstairs calls me to the great workbench in the sky. Hands are shaking more and more and the eyesight is failing slowly but I'll keep on building until they pry the exacto from what is left of my cold shriveled fingers.

You've come to the right place. The members here are very knowledgeable and ready to help with any questions/problems you may have. Don't be afraid to ask. They don't bite.Wink

Welcome Ken!  I imagine you have quite a collection.  I build about 70% aircraft and 30% cars and an occasional oddball here and there.  Look forward to seeing your builds.

Thanks,

John
