Hi ya Jim ... Smile [:)]

A big welcome to the FSM community modeling forum(s) ... I think you will find that we are a very friendly and diverse group.

It sounds like you have all the right stuff ... (please ... no pun intended <grin>) to build a fine model of your uncle's B-24, and you have joined the right modeling forum to pick up and brush up on all the great modeling techniques.

I hope you will spend a lot of time reading the different forums and posting your thoughts, ideas and opinions ... that is what makes this modeling forum work !

Again, welcome and good luck with your B-24 project ... keep us posted on your progress ... and post some pictures when you can.

Welcome to FSM Jim. Lots of us retreads running loose in here. Sorry about your hatred for your airbrush .. I particularly love mine, it sure saves a lot of work and really finishes the models nicely.
Happy Modelling and God Bless Robert

I thought I was the only retread modeler? I'm returning after a 50 year hiatus. I got interested by researching my uncle's B-24 and tryng to recreate it. So, now I have a dozen 1/48 bomber kits, a compressor, an air brush and who knows how much paint and other "stuff".

As already noted on the forum, the hobby has really changed and the skills exhibited are unbelievable, and intimidating.

The B-24 I'm trying to recreate was "The Chambermaid", AC # 42-100227, 7th AF, 30BG, 38BS. I have picutres if anyone is interested. I'd also appreciate any information anyone is willing to share.

I really enjoy this forum.

PS: I hate my air brush. I'm sure the feeling is mutual....
