2017, omaha, thats what i am looking at. Two years east coast, just can not flip the bill for a cross country trip.  I get the feeling IPMS is like the oylmpic selection commity!. They want the citys to cough up a lung to host one?, why. Scale down your requests please!. Give(it can be west coast and or Maybe NW, lol i am bias there) citys a chance to host. If they have the venue, let them work out the rest. IPMS just demands to much to host!. In a era where we are just trying to keep the hobby alive, past down to our kids, IPMS acts like citys should bow down to them on there knees. Go splash some cold water on your face and come back to 2016!, the hobby in a lot of places is shaking at the knees. The Nationals should keep this in mind.

Regarding your hotel cost changing...that should not happen if you are contacting one of our convention hotels...7 in all. Currently the Hilton, the Hampton are sold out, and any day now, the Hyatt will be sold out. You need to contact one of the four other hotels listed on our website, ipmsusa2016.com and look the remaining hotels, especially, the Inn at USC Wyndham Garden...free parking, free breakfast, free internet, and shuttle service to the convention, as does The Springhill Suites by Marriot Downtown are your best bargains, and they have not even started to fill. Both are excellent sites. Make sure you call the hotel site directly to get your convention rate. With registration just opened, call as soon as you can to assure your reservation. This is current as of today, 03/09/16. Hope to see you there, Peter Maher, Chairman, 2016 IPMS USA National Convention

I'd like to rebut the message from BillMC.  I am VP of the Seattle IPMS Club - 126 members strong.  When we tried to host the Nationals (for 2016), the IPMS National office was not the problem at all.  They were very helpful, answering all of our questions regarding securing the venue, contacting vendors, visitor metrics - everything.  They also take all the financial risk.

We have five clubs in the area who were willing to band together to run the show itself.  We successfully secured the venue and the hotel, and had figured out the food, rooms and tours - we were on our way to hosting the 2016 event.  We simply fell short of the key people we needed to manage the project.  We needed about eight, we had 5.  These critical 2-3 year-out jobs are not something you can convince someone to do - they have to really want to do it.  And we fell short (this time).  As a group, the membership voted to pull out.

So - lack of long-range volunteers were to blame.  To attribute any of this to the National office of IPMS is simply wrong.

One more time, one more time!!. I will keep hopeing and campaigning for a another shot. Sadly i was not into modeling the last time Seattle hosted it. I will try to go 2017, but would love to see it return to Seattle. I think it would give a area jolt to modeling communtiy, and specially the youth. They can come and see there is a national interest in a hobby other then Pokemon, and comecon. I know as a area we can do it, i can not wait to show it.
