IPMS - Houston will be having it's 2016 Modelmania show on Saturday April 23, 2016.
The show will be at the Stafford Centre at 10505 Cash Road Stafford, Texas.
Contest Theme this year will be "Vintage Models" Any model manufactured before 1975.
Contest entries close at 1:00PM.

I'm going to try - I'm 6 hours from Houston, so I'll end up making a weekend out of it. I'm going to Model Fiesta35 this coming weekend in San Antonio - that's only 3 hours from me.

Some information to pass on about the show's theme:
"Vintage Models"
Model kits that were designed and first produced before 1975 are eligible. The kit can be a reissue as long as the sprus have not been retooled. Everyone entering in the vintage category is encouraged to bring somthing to authinticate that the model is eligible (such as the box with the kit number) in order to speed up the authintication process.

It is.....and you should go. It's a total blast. My son and I went last year and if all goes well I might be there this year. If I don't go I'll certainly miss all the fun. My only hang up with going to places like that is I like to spend money.
The admission fee to ModelMania 2016 is $5 for adults, $2 for 6 to 16 years old, 5 and under free. If you enter a model in any of the contest your admission is covered by your entry fee.
Entry fees:
Adult first model: $10 ; each additional $2
Junior first model $5; each additional $1
Beginners $1 per model.

Despite some flooding in the Houston area the show is still on for Saturday.
Looks like I'll have to skip it this year fellas. My wife suffered from a ruptured brain aneurism on 21 February and is still making what looks like an almost full recovery. I do want to make the HAMS show on July 30th though. Have fun to all who go to Modelmania. It's a true blast.
