I really miss the fun of moving....that is not sarcasm...I really do miss it. I've been in this place for over 13 years now, and I'll most likely live out my days here. Prior to this, the longest I ever lived in one house was 4 years (Army brat). I love the mental process of organizing and setting up a new place, whether it's a couple blocks away or half way across the country.

Good to see/hear of the forward progress in you moving.

I noticed in the photo, some real classic air plane models. The blue paint on the jet and the red paint on the famous "Flying Machine" still look new. You have done well in keeping them in pristine condition. Oh, and the ones in back of them are nice too

Way to go, Toshi. At first you felt your modeling days were over, seeing your move ahead of you and the more restricted space available. Then, with encouragement from family and your extended family here at FSM, you determined how you could continue.

Once you get your "model factory" organized and tools in place, you'll be off and running again. I'm glad to learn of your plans, the forums would seem less fun if you didn't show up every day. Keep 'em coming, what will be your first build when you start up again???

Good luck with all you have to do, in your relocation. And thanks, Mrs. Toshi, for your help in keeping Mr. Toshi in the game.

My first kit to build is an interesting subject not only for it's build but for the story.  Prior to knowing we would be moving, Mrs. Toshi had a $100.00 coupon for Amazon Prime.  She was going to buy something for herself yet instead told me to pick something out that I wanted.  

Of course this would be a model kit.  After careful contemplation, I chose a Trumpeter 1/32 Attack Harrier II Night Fighter.  I also had some extra money leftover on the coupon so I purchased some Eduard PE for this kit.  This will be my debut back into this wonderful hobby of ours.  

What's funny now is knowing after the fact that I now have limited space in the new condo and here I am building this gigantic 1/32 jet!  LOL!  Patrick206, thank's for your support and read and reply!

Apparently the thread is fine where it is.

We moved last year and we are still unpacking a box here and there.

You have to be extra careful of the blue jet and flying machine, those are priceless builds there.

It's hard to explain how strongly I agree with Patrick. The life and positive attitude you bring to this place is a big deal to me, and I'll bet I'm not alone feeling that way, Toshi.

So glad to hear your move is coming along, and that you have firm plans for a model building center. I've gotten back to doing some modeling again (thanks to you, in part, for the inspiration), and from time to time as I rearrange junk on my building mat for space to do something, (though I have a total of 16 x 3 feet of completely cluttered bench space), I think of you and your smaller space, realising it doesn't matter and you'll be fine.

Go give Mrs Toshi a big hug right now, while you are thinking of it.

Hey Toshi, glad you are getting into the new space.  We moved quite a while ago, and the packing was a pain, but figuring out where everything went in the new house was kind of fun.  Hope you get your modelling space sorted out, and get to some building soon, as it sounds like this is helping out quite a bit with your medical issues.  Can't wait to see your next build!

The packing part and moving the boxes are a logistical nightmare but once it's in my he new condo, it's refreshing to unpack.  I'm enjoying every bit of our new surroundings.  The model room niche is very cozy!

Modeling has helped with my TBI Traumatic Brain Injury drastically.  It has helped my fine motor skills and cognition.  What's more important is the fact that I found something more important, FSM forum members.  Reading and writing to you all has brought much joy to my life not to mention being able to traverse the world!  

My modeling space is slowly coming together.  I'm very pleased with the outcome.  Check out the photos below.

As for Mrs. Toshi, I would not have been here without her.  She's an angel sent from heaven!  Thank you sir for your kind words and the read and reply.  I hope to see some postings of a WIP work in progress from you.

As you see below, here are some photos in regards to placement of my model kits.  I actually donated four kits (Revell 1/48 B-25 Mitchell, Tamiya 1/48 Mosquito, and due to my TBI, I forgot what the other two kits were) to two handymen on our property as they are always helping me with things not related to repair work on the property.  Other than that, I found a way to make all the kits fit and still have room for many more.

The display I chose to utilize is something FSM forum members have described as well as seeing this being done on FSM magazine.

I do not envy you in the slightest, buddy. When I was born, my dad was in the army (I was actually born at Walter Reed in D.C.), and he later became a preacher. So, I've seen my fair share of moves. My last move put me somewhere around 25 total. Granted, that includes moves across town and such, but still! The new setup/display looks great though, Toshi.

 Toshi , I had no Idea that you were such a prolific modeler . All very well done though .You look like you're getting settled in though ! Good on you ! T.B. P.S. Is that short (railing / wall ? ) the opening for a stairway ? If so , maybe you better fasten those models down so they don't fall into the canyon ?
