PzKw V and 88mm FLAK Siezed from German Collector
Posted by Sprue-ce Goose on Friday, July 3, 2015 10:25 AM

http://news.yahoo.com/german-authorities-seize-tank-other-wwii-weapons-raid-115051714.html

A collector's house was raided; Panther V tank, 88mm FLAK and torpedo seized.

"The collector's attorney, Peter Gramsch, told the dpa news agency all the items were properly demilitarized and registered."

The most interesting item in the article states that the collector made no secret of owning the tank:

that the man had even fired up the tank during the particularly bad winter of 1978-79 and helped plow others' snow"

Might be a good idea to save up, just in case the tank and FLAK gun aren't scrapped by the German gov't. and end up being sold.

We've been having some rough winters and ya never know when a heavy duty snow plow will come in handy.Whistling

I hope the old guy gets them back, or at lest go to a museum in Germany. There far to much WW2 German equipment that's been pillaged and moved abroad already.

philo, I was wondering that. He clearly had them fitted when he helped move the snow.

I am a Norfolk man and i glory in being so

Probably sold to a 1/35 metal link track maker as prototype material just to agrivate us putting toghther individual links.  Not in bad shape on either the Panther or the Flak.  I too hope the old boy gets them back.  Not many of either still out there.
