Roger Moore passed away from cancer at 89. Maybe not the best Bond but always my favorite. Going to have to pull out some of his movies and watch them.

One thing about the guy was that he was a gorgeous dresser. I think that he provided his own clothes, at least in The Saint, and he was very good looking in them.

He's probably best remembered as James Bond.  But I grew up with him as Ivanhoe, a medival knight.  He was also in a series with Tony Curtis, but I do not recall the name of that show.  And I certainly enjoyed him as the Saint.

Almost always enjoyed his movie roles. I think my personal favorite was "ffolkes". A class act from a time now behind us.

Meh... not much of a Roger Moore James Bond movie fan. Granted, he was the first James Bond. Personally, I liked Sean Connery and Pierce Brosnan better as James Bond. Daniel Craig was okay...

Even though he was the Bond i grew up with, i was always more of a Connery fan. But he will be sadly missed.

Unfortunatly his death has been some what over shadowed this week, so he has not really revieved the tribute he deserves.

Yeah, amen to that. 

On a lighter note, though I still haven't warmed up to Craig I don't think there's been any bad Bonds. Going back and watching Lazenbe and Dalton I really wish they'd stuck around for a few more movies. 

I picked up the complete set on Blu-Ray few years ago for a Christmas present to myself. It was a little over a hundred for all the movies except the most recent one. I worked it out to about five bucks a film. And the cleaned-up older films look spectacular! All the Connery films look so clear and vibrant I'd swear they were modern retro movies if I didn't know better.   

I rather like Craig. I had gone off Bond for years, but i have got interested in it again. Now just have to see who will be next.

 I will always remember sitting down to see what the " Saint " was up to this week . Definitely a sharp dresser . As Bond he might've put some folks off But I thought he was a good replacement for Connery .They were the best .Well , Roger may you rest in Peace !

I enjoyed the Saint, and his playing of Bond, along with Connery and Brosnan.  Since I'm a cat person, I really enjoyed Ffolkes.  Had a long and sucessful run as an actor.  Didn't think he was that old though.

Roger Moore looked the closest to Fleming's physical vision of Bond.

I also really liked him in ffolkes. That is a seriously under-rated movie.

i think Roger Moore gave what I consider to be one of the funniest lines in a 007 movie:

Moonraker, when Bond and Goodhead are in the cable car and a second car is approaching them with a single occupant grinning at them. Goodhead asks if Bond knows this guy, to which Bond responds inmthat deadpan way that Roger Moore was awesome at, "his name's Jaws. He kills people".

(Related, the other funniest line came from Timothy Dalton in License To Kill, when interviewingnwithmthe drug kingpin Sanchez. Sanchez asks Bond what line of business he is in. Bond says coyly, "I help people with problems." "A problem solver?" Sanchez says, and Bond, with a sly grin, responds, "No, more like a problem eliminator.")

I grew up with Roger Moore as Bond but generally, his movies were not that great Or memorable. I loved For Your Eyes Only and I liked The Spy Who Loved Me, but the rest are largely forgettable. He brought humor to the role that I suppose worked against the largely silly,plots that grew increasingly far-fetched. Maybe that is why I enjoyed FYEO so much, in that it was far more grounded in reality.

i rank Sean Connery as the best Bond. Then Timothy Dalton, Daniel Craig, Roger Moore, Pierce Brosnan and finally George Lazenby, who would probably be higher had he stuck around for a few more movies.

I think the thing with Tony Curtis was "The Persuaders" ?  Problems solved, private investigators for hire, that sort of thing.  Some very cool cars though.
