I've been away up in Halifax for most of the last several months on business, but only got around to doing some touristy stuff this weekend.
On Saturday I took a tour of the Flower class corvette HMCS Sackville (https://hmcssackville.ca/ ), which was very enjoyable. Basically the tour is self guided, with arrows pointint you in the right direction. There were some "switches located at various locations that would provide narration in either English or French, though a couple appeared to be out of order.
Overall though you could access pretty much all the main and focsle level weatherdecks, the bridge and open air conning station above, the 4 inch gun platform, the 20mm gun locations, and some of the below decks, including a forward mess, a washroom, and the upper level of the engine roomand boiler room. In addition, you could look into the capt cabin, the ASDIC shed, the galley, medical ward, and a couple other spaces.
Overall it was a great experience for anyone interested in ships of that period and especially so for anyone hoping to build a Flower class corvette model (I have one of the Revell/Old Matchbox 1/72 scale ones at home that I am trying to get up the nerve to start).
On Sunday I went to the Atlantic Canada Aviation Museum (https://acamuseum.ca/on-display/aircraft-collection/ )
Overall it was not a huge museum, but it was very nice and I was able to get up close to many of the items they had on display.
One of the best parts of the museum is the gift shop, which contained an extensive stock of old model kits for sale. There were notices that many of the kits were donated to the museum, and thus tended to be older kits some of which may be second hand, but the range of stuff that they had (mostly aircraft) was amazing, and better than any hobby store that I have been to recently.
Overall, if anyone is planning a trip to the area I'd highly recommend both places. HMCS Sackville, is in the downtown area on the waterfront, while the aviation museum is off the same exit from the highway as the airport. For both locations admission is via donation.

PS. Here are some of the pictures I took of both HMCS Sackville and the Aviation Museum. I apologize that some are a bit rough, out of focus, or otherwise not great. The batteries for my camera died after just one or two shots on the Sackville so I had to use my phone. I have trouble sometimes seeing the screen when its bright out and it can be finicky about trying to autofocus in dark spaces, or when there is a plexiglass screen (and I did manage to get my thumb in they way several times :( ).
