the #13 sep-oct 2014 MODERN WAR magazine has an article on the T-90.

The Type 99 uses a copy of the T-72 hull, but the turret is welded to make it look similar to western tanks. Call it whatever you want, a western 120mm sabot round will go in one side and come out the other.

Just wondering,Is the Chinese T-99 just another variant of the T-72 and T-90,and how does it stack up against the western tanks ?

thanks for any thoughts

A T-90 is just the modernized, renamed T-72 that had a poor showing during Desert Storm.

Holy crap! An impressive tank....

Then again they get stuck in mud and can't get themselves out. LOL!

Even our M1 Abrams can get stuck in mud.

Moral of this post. There's no such thing with tanks that can't get themselves unstuck in deep mud no matter how hard you try. Sooner or later the unlucky one will have to get towed out.
