That post was posted in the Ready Room, which is for non-modeling related subjects,It's a matter of the mods opinion about the picture, but there was no problem with that subject in that forum.

You know, this is kinda ironic. A few years ago, someone had a tread up about hunting, and they actually had some pretty graphic "kill" shots on it, and I PM"ed them and basically said that the should be more sensitive about the way that some people here would take the photos--some people are just anti-hunting. I know that my own sisters and fiance hate to see "bloody" dead deer photos. I understand that. And I also am not into hunting just for "killing". It's a total "time wit Dad" and "meat for the table" thing.

I posted up photos because I thought they were scenic and just photogenic. Never posted a kill shot, nor asked for them. I guess I should have expected them, but didn't remember the last "incident".

The thing is, I don't subscribe to any "hunting" forums, because I don't hunt a lot. I do it once or twice a year, with Dad, for the time that it gives a father and son together, away from the "real world".  And this--FSM--is really my "online home". I don't really frequent any other forums any more. So I shared with my "friends" here.

I was surprised when the thread got locked, and I don't understand the umbrage against dead deer shots, but I DO understand that, regardless of that, some people are going to be disturbed by them--even on a forum where we enthusiastically build weapons of War which kill hundreds of human beings. Human nature never ceases to amaze me.  Sad

Anyway....I guess I shoulda known better. I certainly will remember this lesson.

Good point Doog.  I of course find them very interesting and fun to build war machines,  but in actuality some who served find seeing certain things very upsetting.  My buddy who served in Afghanistan absolutely hates seeing anything to do with AK's.  He lost 3 close friends by them.  So you think a deer pic would be tittly-winks...

As long as there wasn't gory splatters everywhere I don't really think its that big of a deal.  I live in Oregon.  Tree country.  So yes there is a lot of hunting and outdoor activities.   I used to fish a lot but haven't for a while.  Each has their own reasons for their hobbies and activities but people being that upset about hunting.....?  I'd like to see them try to live 100 Years ago.  That's how we used to survive and some still do carry on the tradition.  My uncle feeds his family and donates much of his hunt and catch to food drives.

Mods have their reasons. Got to respect that.

No dead animals.

Modeling is an excuse to buy books.
