Banned from FB page? lol
Posted by pyrman64 on Tuesday, December 30, 2014 1:40 AM
Greetings, I joined a few modelling pages/groups on Facebook, some general and a few specific subject. Well, a day ago, I replied to a post about a video of an armored firefighting vehicle. I stated that it wasn't anything to get excited about as it was over twenty years old. It turned out that the poster was the 'owner' of the FB (no rivet counters) page. He apparently was offended by my comment and replied with an expletive or two and an accusation that I was a know it all. I thought his comments were out of line and inquired if maybe Santa had relieved himself in the guy's stocking. At which point he (Danny Scott Prejoles) banned me from the page - I'm so proud!

Some people take the Internet too seriously.

In proper Internet argument fashion your now required to start a competing FB group with opposite rules and regulations calling out the former FB group as the reason for your new and even better group.  lol

Good luck.

Started yesterday to get banned from a 4x4 forum, have not heard from either a mod or the knothead yet, but hopes are holding.  More comments are in order I guess.

Was the video about a guy who bought an old soviet tank hull and turned it into a forest fire fighting machine?

I build 1/48 scale WW2 fighters.

Have fun.

You know, this kind of stuff happens all the time, but I honestly don't think that it's any classier to name the person here and try to defame him; after all, we ARE only hearing YOUR side of the story here. And it certainly invites a "flame war" to start if he gets wind of your posting here. Hmm

Come on, Greg; why don't you take the high road here and edit your post and remove his name from it? It would be a really mature thing to do. Smile

Colin: it was a T-34 hull with two MiG-21 engines mounted on it for putting out oil well fires post Kuwait war.  It was converted by a Hungarian company.

DD, I have been trying to think of "clean enough for FSM" cadences since Stik posted "GI Grits,,,,,,,,,,",,,,,,and I can't think of any.

So, on the subject of being banned from places. How many of y'all have been kicked out of personal defense courses in civilian life,,,,,,,,because of language?

I signed up for one, way back in the eighties, and I only said "Kill, Kill, Kill" once during a workout,,,,,and poof, I was refunded and had the door pointed out to me. I swear it wasn't on purpose, and I don't do it now.

Of course, now, if I do exercises like that, it sounds like "huff, puff, puffffff" (my doctor just recently made me stop running,,,,,"for my own good")

You'd think they would've given you a warning before kicking you out of the class. Wayyyyy too PC......

Know whatcha mean about not running. My orthopedic specialist made me stop running because my right hip is going bad.. really quick. And I LOVE running! He said walking is ok, but no running at all. Man,. I miss it......

Mine is the knees,,,,,,,but, yeah, knees, hips, they make you stop.

Our doctor is a former Army LT, he told me to get a stationary bike. I think Anne colluded with him,,,,,,,you can't trust two dogfaces if they get together in a doctor's office. (lol) (they both are "ranker than me" at that)

Okay, I think I typed enough to be in deep enough trouble if Anne reads this.

Since you guys wanna hijack this thread, why not start your own in a new topic?

naw, this thread had run its course by post number six,,,,,,and most forums would just erase it to go with their rules about "don't bad mouth other sites on this one" (the original thread ended when The Doog posted a completely ethical response to your "naming names" on here)

So, we are just joking back and forth

And your use of ADD is just a bit offensive. That is a tired old cliche response to every post that doesn't exactly fit in the original post,,,,,,,,it is mostly brought out as ammo in a thread where the actual response that the OP is trying to solicit is unclear from the start (usually by design)

Rex (maybe some FB page will help you out resolving this "abuse" by a mean bunch of FSMers??)

TS: I informed the name person that this thread was up, gave a link, and told him he was welcome to defend his action.  Obviously, he chose not to.

PS, the ADD/squirrel thing is also used in threads when folks STRAY from the OP topic.

Okay, let me help you then.

Hey Guys, do you think that any of us should give our REAL opinions of a thread that starts with "oohhh woa is me, I have been bannnnnnnned" ?

Trust me, in an industry where people have been "banned from purchasing products" from an online vendor, you might not want to know anyone's REAL opinion of a thread like this. lol

I won't, but only because if I type out my real, honest opinion, I would get banned from typing on here.

I think you should try your luck with the Mods, report that "people have strayed off topic into having fun" in this thread,,,,,,,,and then see just exactly where they lay their knife when they cut this thread short.

While I agree mostly with Tarn and Doog, I figure the guy is on facebook with god knows what type of personal bs he puts on there, Greg mentioning his name here is the least of the guys worries, and crosses no internet taboo lines...(as you can see I am anti-facebook, but no real offense to anyone here who's big into it.)
