Looked on the internet and talked to one football guy about that. You are right. I didn't know it would be considered a safety if he took the knee at the end zone.

The safety would occur IF... a defender tackles/touches him. Not when the QB takes the knee to run out the clock.

No, if the QB is in the end zone and does the victory formation kneel down in his own end zone, it would be a safety. No one need touch him since the QB kneel down is akin to the QB slide where he is predetermined to be giving himself up and ending the play.

Sorry guys but I'm not a football fan at all.  The wife and I went to the 4:00 showing of the Sniper then went to dinner.  Had trouble finding a restaurant that didn't close at 7:00 for the game.  It was 6:30 and they had closed early.  That really ticked me off as we went from one place to another.  Finally found a Ruby Tuesdays that was open till 9:00 and had a great meal.  The place was empty and they even turned down the sound on the TV's so we didn't have to listen to it.  Came home and worked in the hobbyroom on a JU87G-1 for about 4 hours.  Got a lot done.

That circus catch near the sideline gave me flashbacks to the David Tyree helmet catch. I figured after Lynch got to the 1 yard line, the game was over. Even after the interception, Brady couldn't kneel down because it would be a safety, giving Seattle 2 points and the ball with a free kick.

Seattle then entered full meltdown mode, jumped offsides, started a fight, gave the patriots breathing room to just kneel out the clock. They looked like a team that expected to win and threw a tantrum when it wasn't handed to them like Green Bay did.

Yep, someone forgot that Lynch was in full on beast mode that drive.  I mean, if he can't get a yard in two plays..................

Packer fan here so I was happy.  I like Brady too so it was a win win.  I was on a flight to Portland Or so most were Seachicken fans in the plane and were watching on tablets and phones.  The last play (stupid call btw, worst I have ever seen) happened on final approach as we were descending.  I was laughing inside the whole way.  tehehehehe

I could not believe that someone would actually call that play, that is where the Wilson should have said, "Coach is calling for a pass on 2nd & 1 with :22 left and one timeout remaining, as QB, I'm going to give it to Lynch and have him punch it in!"

On the Bench:  Lots of unfinished projects!  Smile

A great game no doubt but let me say this... Seahawks DESERVED to lose that game. I mean come on... what coach in the right mind would call a pass play on 2nd &1 on the 1 yard line? All Seattle needed to do  is have the RB pound it in the end zone.

A typical Pete Carroll bone-headed call...

It's in the 60's today.  So I thought I'd get outside and do some pruning in my vineyard before the game.

I kegged my homebrew this morning, so it should be carbonated by kickoff.  GO STEELERS!  No?  OK, go Seahawks.

I live in New York State and always hated Brady and Company LOL!

Never could figure out haters. I was born and raised in Vermont and followed the Patriots. I remember the old jokes when they changed the name from Boston to New England. The joke went, "why'd they change the name? To help spread the blame!"

I've admired Brady and what he's done with the chance he got. He never should have started an NFL game at quarterback. He was a 6th round draft pick, third string QB destined to replicate the opposing team's star QB with the practice squad. One injury to the second stringer during preseason and another injury to the overall number one draft pick QB Drew Bledsoe, and we get the beginning of Brady's career. The Patriots had the number one pick because they went 2-12 the previous year.

If I was a New Yorker, I'd hate that the only team that actually plays in New York State is the Buffalo Bills. I went to Hofstra University when it was the home of the Jets. We'd often get the opportunity to get tickets when they still played at Shea Stadium against a lesser team. From 1982 to 1986, that was often New England and the Baltimore Colts. Both these teams were often in last place in the AFC East.

Yes, back then the Miami Dolphins ruled the AFC East followed later by the Bills (actually an acronym for Boy I Like Losing Superbowls). Back then, no one hated the Patriots. They were like the Buccaneers, perennial door mats for the the rest of the conference.

If you want to hate a player, hate someone who smacks their wife, gets arrested for sexual assault or earns #1 draft pick money and never gets your team into the playoffs. Brady plays for bargain basement prices and has more post season wins as a starting QB than 21 NFL teams have in their teams' history,

Win or lose, he's starting his 6th Super Bowl in 13 seasons. That's almost a Super Bowl appearance every other year of his career. Hate him because your team passed him up at least six times during the draft.

Seems you're not the only one. The big discussion in my church today (unrelated to the sermon, of course) was how everyone viewed Brady. I think he's an OK guy, but I was in the very small minority on that one. Mainly, the women actually said they hated him because he supposedly left his pregnant girlfriend for the super-model he's now with. Surprised that they used the word "hate" instead of "dislike", especially in church.....

I'll probably hit the bench in the evening while the girls have their tea-time movie night, and then go see the last 10 minutes if it's still interesting. I have a new Roden 1/72 T-28 that I'd like to get started on.

I'll be gluing up the wings on the Betty in the morning, then have to go 15 miles away for a gold prospecting club meeting and just hope it gets over in time to get back home and grab a pizza on the way and settle in for the game.

Superbowl Party!

I just wanted to see who's with me. No, not a superbowl football game watching party. A finescale modeller type of superbowl party. It's supposed to rain tomorrow and I'll be working with my Iwata and some RLM! Cool
