Forums , content and why we need or don't need more breakdowns .
I think that breaking down the forums into civilian and military would be nice . BUT there is so little civilian stuff out there .The AIDA ships in 1/400 snuck up on me for instance . I have one from the old REVELL snap 1/1250 series .
I do believe it would result in a stop , read the new post and move on . Now that is not desireable . I had hoped for more results with the Papermodels thread . On the one site I go to there are dozens of modelers here in the good old U.S.A and across the pond and the continent , that like it enough there's a whole site . I don't know what happened here .I do believe that's what you'd see if further breakdowns were done .
Also I told many at the other site , about this happening at FSM , but I had a party and No one came . Soo , There's your example .Many use paper and card in scratch - building , but don't feel a whole thread is desireable I guess .
Say you did have a site about the U.S. Navy ships . How many carriers can we talk about when Joe Brown is only interested in Cruisers of W.W.2 and Subs of the Kreigsmarine ?. Carriers for the most part bore me unless they were or are the MIDWAY and the HORNET post Korea , with all the goodies in 1/350 ! .Where are all the cruiser models is a good example .1/700 is not a scale I am comfortable with .Most are there . No one has done any in 1/350 other than the Indianapolis , that I am aware of and if they did I missed it .
That said , where are those gallant fighters ? The Brooklyn's and The others . The Rochester , Helena , Astoria and the list goes on . We don't even have a good collection of support ships in any one desireable scale . Therefore I do Not support the idea although it does have some little bit of merit . T.B.
