Pictures , or the inability to provide them .
Posted by tankerbuilder on Wednesday, May 27, 2015 10:57 PM

I must open this with the statement that someone is trying to walk me through it now .

There is a conclusion that I find perplexing .Why do most folks Assume that if you can make posts that you are computer literate to post pictures ? Why don't they just sit back and form " Mind Pictures " from what is said ?

Would you believe?  I have met approximately one person in this town who can do the picture to post thing?

Now think about this ,  there are those of us that never interacted with Laptops or Desktops until a few years ago . What are you supposed to do when everyone around you works and the folks you live with do all kinds of stuff , Except ! post pictures to a site , So they can't teach an old man how to do it .

You see , I pretty much learned how to do this on my own , by experimenting with a Laptop I finally bought because they got angry every time I messed up their computer !

Pictures have escaped me because even the LIBRARY computer teacher won't just teach me this . They want me to learn all that stuff . What the heck do I need with spread sheets and other crud for ?

I am totally retired , finishing out some commission work and trying to share my skills with the world the best way I know how . As I did when I taught classes . With the ability to get each and every student to visualize in his or her mind what picture the words were painting

Have we lost that ability as a society now ? It seems that we can't even talk to each other in the same room . We can text each other though .There's something wrong with that scenario !

I learned way back when that if you could get the student to visualize mentally the idea or thing you were talking about you were a good teacher ,  trouble is , even most teachers today are unable to visualize in this way , so how can they teach the kids to do it . Well , plain and simple they can't .

Most modelers have this ability , that is , to visualize what another modeler is speaking about .Thank Goodness for that ! Now if you all will bear with me I will really try to follow this teachers advice about posting photos with my text  . Thanks for your Long suffering patience and I hope this tutorial takes in these old grey cells .     T.B.

Sepia tones went out of style some years ago.

Modeling is an excuse to buy books.

Why don't they just sit back and form " Mind Pictures " from what is said ?

Because sometimes it's hard to sit back and form "mind pictures" from a less than coherent description.

Because sometimes it's hard to sit back and form "mind pictures" from a less than coherent description.

Those two statements both assume that the person has a properly-functioning mind to begin with,,,Clown
