Today, June 14, is flag day, commemorating the day Congress accepted the official design of the US flag with 13 stripes and 13 stars. When I was a kid, nearly everyone displayed a flag on their homes and businesses on this day, and so did the city. Today I see none, and no mention of it in the news media.
But my flag is flying proudly on my front porch.
