You have to use your imagination here :

It's a quiet night at sea in this part of the world . Native fishermen are doing their thing . Suddenly ! The sky starts to shimmer .It gets like a rainbow of greys coupled with the fading sunlight .A large grey object is forming in the mist .

The fishermen paddle as fast as they can .The sea around the coast of Virginia is usually very calm . Except for the settlers shooting at the soldiers in the " lobster coats "  , as the chief calls them !

Maybe they should shoot at the " Lobster Coats too ?" , No they will wait to see what the strangers and settlers do next. Boooom ! the sound rebounds off the shore and the British commander at the bay mouth garrison is so shocked at what he sees he dampens his trousers .

My gosh  ! what did he see . Well there's a island sized object floating in the harbor here near YorkTown .The name he sees after she swings to starboard is The " Midway " What are those strange contrivances on her funny flat deck .They rise like birds but with a heckuva a lot more racket !

And she has no sails . What devils brew is this ? Have the French given the rebels a secret weapon ?

We'll see in part two of the Midway at Yorktown .Faaaade to White .  "Honey , are you going to build that model of the " Midway " or sit and daydream ? " That from his patient wife of twenty-five years . Ha ! LOL.LOL.LOL.

I did a short story in high school along the same lines but it was set in the future and the dream daydream was the surrender in Japan with Enterprise there and was set in like 1995 (this was in about '69)

Napolean had a platoon of AMX 13 75's ready for Waterloo. Unfortunately gasoline hadn't been invented yet.

Modeling is an excuse to buy books.
