FAUX PAS

Hello , My Friends .

Have you ever done something in public that embarrassed you ? Say for instance , Compliment a young lady on how radiant she looks in a family way , only to be told she's Not in a family way ? Or how about , Hey , Honey , wear the red dress it makes you look better ? When it doesn't ?

Being 72 has it's perks though . I can move slower in the mall and make folks go around me , Just because I want to . I can be crabby in public because it's expected of me .and so on . The hard part for me is this .

I know the distance from the table to my mouth . I must be spinning the fork or something , because I wind up wearing more food particles and gravy drops than I used to . What's up with that ? I have not gained weight either ! At least in the hobby area and the workshop I only stick myself once or twice a month with an X-Acto knife .That's normal with a screwed up hand though .

Sometimes I wish fervently I could use my left hand like I did when younger . I could do the same stuff with it I did with my right , sometimes better. The right trembles terribly when I bring that cockpit part to the sidewall .Gees , missed that pin again .

In ships it's funnier . have you ever seen a ship with the mast coming out of the stack ? That is why I got an opti - visor finally . Now this is with new glasses , mind you ! In armor , what little I do , It takes me a week to do Fruilmodel tracks !

You know though when it's my time ,  They will have to pry theX-Acto or paintbrush out of my cold hand  . Because I will model on till that day , all senior Faux- Pas notwithstanding !

Naw, they won't pry it loose, you will need it in the great beyond, and the PE will bend easier and fit better, and flash will be non-existant. And seams will magically disappear..........

It'll need superglue de-bonder to detach it from your forehead.

You are a young man talking old, TB.

Wait till you are 80. I've watched my dad and my F-I-L go past that mark. One sits in a chair and nods and smiles. The other made it to 90 and then just fell over dead one morning. Either way you've got many hours left on the airframe.

Helps to have a hobby. Where I do see these guys get a little sideways is relating to women. What was, is no longer. True gents both, but out of date.

Modeling is an excuse to buy books.

TB,  I've been told (from someone that is supposed to know these things Wink) that we will be returned to our bodies in 100% perfect working condition.  No pains, no aches and no imperfections.  I guess that means that while working at "The Great Workbench In The Sky" we will all build those perfect models that we try for every time.

One good thing about getting older is that you can hobble around with a cane, and people will be polite to you and get out of your way and open doors for you, and call you "sir."

Gimme a pigfoot, and a bottle of beer...
