A nice surprise from Squadron
Posted by plasticjunkie on Friday, July 31, 2015 9:47 PM

I ordered the new Trumpy 1/32 Bf109K-4 (what a freaking beauty) and a 1/32 decal sheet that was reduced down to $2 at Squadron a few days ago. I received my order today and upon opening the box noticed a Squadron Signal Detail In Action book on the F8F Bearcat that I did not order. Then I read the notice in the box that said it was a free gift for appreciation of my patronage.

Well thank you Squadron for the nice gesture! I have been ordering from them since the mid 1970's and have NEVER had a problem with them. What a great outfit!

Yes that was nice. They sent me a walkaround publication on the USS Kidd as a gift. Guess I'm in the market for a square bridge Fletcher.

 Modeling is an excuse to buy books.

Hello , P.J. ;

   I just recently had the same experience . Last week I ordered " Maudsley's Paddlewheel Steam Engine " by Airfix .When the box arrived I definitely got a surprise .

   I build Light Skin Armor for my own enjoyment . A favorite since childhood has been the M-8  / M-20 Armored Car . Guess what the walk -Around Book was about  ? I immediately called Squadron and thanked them for the book . Nice Lady on the other end says " No , Thank You , for being a customer " How's that for a boy howdy ?      T.B.

It's nice to get a pleasant surprise like what we experienced. I also called Squadron and thanked the lady.

I also received the Bearcat book.  That plane does not interest me, so I will be happy to send the book to someone who can use it.  Thanks.

They did the same for me, I got the book on the Saab Viggen. Care to swap?

Bish

Give it a try, the only freebies I get from them are the huge packing bubbles they use (a much bigger pop than bubble wrap).

I did get a free bottle of paint from MIG last week, before I saw the label saying it was free I was starting to wonder why I'd ordered it!

Here's a strange one:  I ordered a plane model and set of paint masks.  What I got was the plane model and a huge Russian tank model!  The tank model was not invoiced.  I could have kept it and no one would know the difference, but I don't operate like that.  I called and talked to Jeff, the cust service manager, and he arranged for me to send the tank back, and he sent me my paint masks.

I've talked to Jeff on another matter, and he is a first class, on the ball guy!  Excellent company!

Gimme a pigfoot, and a bottle of beer...
