Geez that's some scary weather down under! It's a thing of beauty yet scary to find yourself in the middle of it.

that is just freaky weird. yes it's redundant but look at it, it deserves redundancy. i just finished a weather class and these types of clouds weren't discussed. 

We see this occasionly in the mid-west U.S.  They are referred to as roll cloud, shelf cloud, or arcus cloud that forms aong the gust front of a line of strong thunderstorms.  They look very impressive, don't they?

Yes, I once saw a weather front like that in Eastern Wyoming coming in from the Great Plains. We got of their just ahead of that storm.

And this is just the start of our Storm and Cyclone Season. Could be lots of fun.....
