fermis

This year...we have the same tree already posted....

I usually put up the tree on Thanksgiving weekend...but this year, I had to work a LOT, then we were in Germany for the past week. I just don't have the gumption to do all the work now.

The usual Christmas tree...

We don't ever go with a "theme". The village/train is a family tradition. Mine is still a WIP, adding just a little bit every couple of years.

I graffitied the train cars with names of family, brothers, nephews, pets, nicknames, etc. I also try to relate the "businesses"..."Lynn's salon"(wifes name and she's a hair stylist). We Have the "Rusty Diamond Ranch" (Rusty and Diamond were our 1st two horses).

Fermis, Wow  Yes

Merry Christmas everyone!

Santa just got finished no less than 30 minutes ago, and here is the Daniel family Christmas tree, complete with the Cat ready to FSU...

Seeing all those girls toys reminded me of my daughters last Christmas alone before my son was born. Spoiled her something rotten. Had presents half way up the tree all the way round. Gees that was 16 years ago

Nice to see the different personality in the trees and read the stories from everyone. Thanks for contributing and not taking this thread somewhere self-destructive (I'm sure you know what I mean). Some nice looking work there guys! :)

No pics, but about 25+ years the wife asked the ex(best friends) if she wanted us to get her a tree when we went up and got ours.  She said sure, I'll pay for the permit too.  OK, we go up and find ours, and a perfect 12 foot Noble Fir for the ex.  On the way back down we passed a clearcut that had been burned prior to replanting.  Here was a perfect fir about 6-7 feet, but not needle one on it.  Decided to have some fun with her, and brought it home.

Called and said tree is ready (had the real one wrapped like a roll of carpet at the floorcovering store we had then) and the bare one was standing in the corner.  She shows up and sayys, where is my tree......  right there, NO WAY, WHERE IS MY TREE!!!!  She liked to tore the place apart looking, and I am rolling with tears in my eyes.  Finally had to get the real one out for her. After she saw the real one, she ended up taking both and setting up the bare one withsome clear lights in the front yard.

We still laugh about the Charlie Brown tree that year.

Since the wife passed last fall, I don't do the holidays and decorating anymore, it was mostly for her.

Beautiful Christmas trees! I don't put them up myself; there's no room in the apartment, but I do like to put those strings of tiny silver balls (I guess they're a type of garland) around my insulator collection, though I haven't done that yet. With a bad shoulder, I might skip it.

We don't have ours up yet either but my step-son does.  Well, he never took it down from a few years ago.  He leaves it in the family room (which no one hardly ever goes into). That's the trouble with having a BIG house with more rooms in it than you will ever have need for.

Dude.. you are better off using the private message function, & NOT leave a valid email address on an open forum. Then you get to decide IF and/or WHO you want to give out your email addy to. There are spam bots what harvest email addresses for nefarious purposes, just saying...

Got my pre-lit tree up last night but not decorated (except for the beads) yet. I had a heck of a time figuring out the correct plug order to light the whole darn tree. By the time I had it all figured out, screw the ornaments until another day. LOL!

I have not put up a real tree in years.  They are cool, but a lot of work. Well, at least the real ones are.  So I bring out this little guy. I am single, so I can get away with this. Funny thing...I left it standing since last Christmas. I was done decorating 12 months ago. I don't want to strain myself or anything. Big Smile

I'm with Gamera, no tree up at our place yet either. I do; however, have a wrapped gift from the Secret Santa GB that is waiting for its place under the tree as soon as I get it up, maybe this weekend!

On the Bench:  Lots of unfinished projects!  Smile

That last tree reminds me of our tree after the 2007 economic meltdown...  Seriously.  No particular theme this year.  Just threw on everything the kids have made in school and called it good.  Hope some of those packages contain plastic sprues!

Someone is going to do this, so it might as well be me. My daughters have put up two trees in the house, but this is my tree residing in the sheep's pen (aka my room ) :

Hey guys; I just put up our Christmas tree in the new house, and thought it would be a cool thread to see what everyone else does with their tree. We got the "snow-frosted" type and went with a red/white theme. So if you put one up for the Holidays, show it off here! Big Smile
