Pegasus Bridge: Assault on Normandy Movie

Something I ran across while looking for information on glider hook-ups.  Looks like an interesting feature.  Hope it has a sufficient budget to tell a believable story.

I swear I saw a preview at the theatre for a movie about Pegasus Bridge...but, IIRC, that was a year or so ago.

I read a book about Peg. Brg. several years ago...thought it would make a great movie.

When is the movie coming out to theaters? Definitely one I'd see.

Considering they were just visiting the site of Pegasus Bridge in November of this year, I would say earliest 2017.

Stephen Ambrose wrote a book titled "Pegasus Bridge: June 6, 1944".  I actually have a paperback copy.

I have seen that book in B&N numerous times. Looks like that one is next on my reading list. :))

Couldn't find anything about a release date. That piece of history was covered briefly in the all time great movie the longest day. Major Howard played by Richard Todd (had to look that one up)

Interesting piece of trivia for you but Richard Todd was actually at Pegasus Bridge on D-Day but in the film played Major Howard while another actor played him. That must have been fun on set, telling someone "your playing me wrong"

I see the potential, but I really do hope that they keep the re enactors out of it. They tend to be too old and too heavyset to be believable WWII front line troops. Especially for an elite unit such as will be portrayed here for the glider assault.

I received the Stephen Ambrose book for Christmas. It is a well written book.
