Nicolas Roeg the director is an auteur. If you've seen Don't Look Now, or The Man Who Fell to Earth, or Performance. He's a cinematographer first. He was the second unit cine on Lawrence of Arabia.

I haven't seen everything he produced, but enough to want to watch Walkabout.
