Filled doughnuts are good, but I'm also partial to maple bars.

Basically, I never met a doughnut I didn't like.

I'll second the Boston Cream, but if I'm going to be honest...I'll just say "yes please."

I don't recall but the thought of sticking them in the microwave doesn't sound too appealing.

Cobra - Krispy Kreme the Don Perignon of donuts? ROFLMAO!!! You must be joking. I'll take Holland Farms (local and family owned donuts) over any franchise made donuts. Holland Farms will demolish Krispy Kreme when it comes to size, quality, and freshness.

WE have one better than Krispy Kreme. I know a lot of you will think I'm nuts, but Clarks Donuts (a local company) are the best. If you all could try them, you wouldn't even look at another Krispy Kreme.

Clarks Cinnimin Donut is the best. I'll be going to Clarks Today

I sneak a Boston Creme every once in a while and the doctor gives me H*** the next time I see him for driving my sugar up. I just shrug my sholders and tell him it will be back down next time.Wink

I don't care what anyone says - Krispy Kreme is the Don Perignon of doughnuts! I love them no matter what they sell.

Beans

Boston Cream, all day.

I'm curious about Luther Burgers...

Like a cobra, as beautiful as it is deadly..... Dead

Blacksheep: Were they hot? As Tojo says they're much better that way. You can stick them in the microwave for ten seconds or so too, not as good as fresh and hot but still great that way.

I am a Krispy Kreme snob...

Glazed, maybe a little chocolate on top - nothing fancy...

Tried Krispy Kreme a couple times. I didn't find them all that great to write home about. I can say the same for Tim Horton's donuts too. I wasn't all that impressed with them.

Only one place I'll get donuts and that's Holland Farms in Yorkville (going on 60 plus years now). I have a weakness for their Chocolate fingers and Glazed jellybun donuts. Oh man, did I mention their jellybun donuts are to die for?

Their donuts stays fresh longer than grocery store brand including Dunkin' Donuts donuts. Dunkin' Donuts isn't the same as it was back in the 70s and early 80s.

What is your favorite weakness - I mean donut? Apple Fritter? Old Fashion (glazed)? I only know about this day, because every year, on the day before the holiday, PBS televises the Huell Howser segment on the story behind "the Doughboys" and how it relates to donuts, WW1, and the Salvation Army.
