Mention was made in another thread of him flying an P-80 under the Crooked River bridges. These are 300 feet up from the river and in a canyon about 400 feet wide. The bridges are about a 1/4 mile apart at the most. Here are a couple of pics of the bridges and in the background of the green one (built in the early 1920's) you can see the new one built around 2000 to replace it. The black one is the rail bridge built in 1911 and still in use. Pics taken from same spot, just looking in opposite directions. The one in the background is named the Rex Barber Veterans Memorial Bridge. Didn't want to hijack the other members build thread.

In 1943, a Lancaster was flown under the Sydney Harbour Bridge. Clearance between the bridge deck and the water is 49m (161ft).
This still stands as the largest aircraft flown under the Sydney Harbour Bridge.

That would be Bill Overstreet who chased the Bf-109 under the Eiffel Tower. The P-51 is "The Berlin Express".

I have a decal sheet for his P-51 but couldn't think of his name off the top of my head...
Next time over there (probably end of next month at the airshow) will go out on the old highway bridge and take a shot of the other one. I really don't like heights that much so didn't hang out on these to get better angles. Eillel Tower makes ths one seem like wide open spaces.

Did you know he flew 2 different Berlin Express P-51s? His first one did not have the locomotive design on it yet, he did have a horse on the opposite side though.
Don't know what varient he flew in that, but ran across (at HL) the Revell 1/32 "B" kit with the Berlin Express decals with the locomotive. Shows OD uppers and silver (NMF?) undersides.
