On this day

Father Judge, my own touchstone hero from that day.

Franciscan Friar Mychal Judge, Chaplain in the FDNY, was assigned to the North Tower Lobby to give aid to the victims. When the South Tower collapsed, the debris explosion killed him and others.

His body was recovered by FDNY crews.

This type of service is so incomprehensible to me that I can only pray for him every September.

I do believe people like him have a special place with the Lord. We can take some solace knowing he died doing what he was called to do, living out the works of mercy.

While I personally dont know any one that died that day as a EMT that worked north of the City for 10 years. I did know people that lost friends and I have one friend that did lose a relative in the towers. To this day it is hard for me to watch anything in reguards to that day and not choke up thinking of my brother firefighters, EMT's, Paramedics, and Police officers that lost their lives that day, just doing what they do.

Very sorry for this sadness. Incomprehensible indeed.
