U.S.S. MISSOURI - A Question .
Posted by Tanker - Builder on Tuesday, November 15, 2016 4:31 PM

Hi;

   I have a question for anyone out there who might've gotten their hands on Trumpeter's 1/200 model of tthe MISSOURI . The question is this .The photos aren't clear . Is she in 1945 or earlier fit or Post 1980 fit ? If it's 1945 I have to plan my budget for all the parts and the kit itself . Looks to be about five or six hundred total .

 I could build the Old Incorrect model from REVELL or if I'm lucky get the 1/350 Tamiya version . But you know what wishes are like . In one hand pllpph and the other hand pllpphh . This is a Need to know though !

    Would you believe that the " MO " is one ship I've NEVER built ? And I mean Never ! The model I am looking at is in the newest Micro-Mark catalogue !  T.B.

The box art shows her in 1945 guise including fantail catspults & seaplanes.  As well as that era paint scheme (Measure 12?) Sprue shots on the link below show WWII stuff as well

Was looking at some pics of the completed kit via google.  Don't see the Tomahawk cannisters or the CWIS domes on her in those.  Looks to be WWII fit.

Drop Micro an email and ask.

Definitely Tokyo Bay. The box art shows her, in Measure 22.

She was also very weathered.

 Modeling is an excuse to buy books.
