Oh dear. Stanford wasn't fast enough and I think the QB had a sore arm. Miserable game to sit through.
Modeling is an excuse to buy books.
Yes, good luck Cardinal.
Ohio State-PennSt. and Stanford-Notre Dame both on about the same time. The recall button on the remote will be working overtime.
Go Bucks and Cardinal.
Sooner Born...Buckeye Bred.
Michigan State class of ‘94 for my BS. University of Hawaiʻi at Mānoa for my MA so go Spartans and go Rainbow Warriors! Both have looked okay this year so it should be a fun season.
On the workbench: 1/35 Takom T-54B; 1/35 Tamiya Char B1bis w/French Infantry; 1/48 Tamiya Fairey Swordfish Mk. 1
Stanford is big strong and deep. Nice to be able to count on the special teams.
We have a good recent history against Notre Dame.
Didn't watch my Sooners, some new PPV deal. Probably could have streamed it but my IT is so spotty. Kind of glad I didn't, Army gave OU's defense fits.
Went to bed after the Ducks got a first down with less than 2 minutes. I think I missed somethings! LOL.
Did watch the end of VT and ODU. Who knew I had CBS sports channel. Go Monarchs!
I agree with KeavDog. You got to love college football. So much better than the NFL.
Whew... my Aztecs pulled out a win against a pretty darned good Easter Michigan team in OT. Our injured QB out last week for 4-6 weeks, starting RB out this week and we pulled it off in OT.
Lots of fun in college ball this weekend. Old Dominion upsets Virgina Tech!
I watched the first quarter of the Stanford Oregon game and looked pretty grim for the Cardinal. Watching the highlights was pretty fun. Stanford rising! Beat Oregon.
And Army takes #5 Oklahoma into overtime.... love college football!
Thanks,
John

My Hogs are not looking so good this year.

On the bench: 1/48 Eduard MiG-21MF
1/35 Takom Merkava Mk.I
Ya that was pretty wild. Arkansas looking questionable this year.
GMorrison Stanford looked methodical, if a bit boring, in stifling USC. Two picks and did not allow a TD.

Big game at Autzen this Saturday, between my Ducks and your Trees. Could go a long way in deciding the North. Oregon looked bored last week and you get Love back. I predict another low scoring affair.
Eric
I have no interest on football. I intend to be building and listening to my music by that time. There's another contest next year.
Watched BYU upset 6th ranked Wisconsin and my mighty SDSU Aztecs take down 23rd ranked Arizona state albeit in a damned controversial ending. Go Aztecs!
Just looking at the stats seems turnovers and Love won that game. He did way better than he did against my Aztecs ;)
They look really good this year. Love is great, but open up that passing game.
Sounds familiar. We moved to a new location this season, first deck half way up between the goal posts in the north end zone.
DasBeav I will not mention Uwe Von Schamman.
LOL. The other "He who will not be named". He's not the only one to give the Buckeyes a black eye but probably the only one most Buckeye fans know by name. There is any number of those from the state up north.
At the '77 game, I had field seats behind the Buckeyes bench. John Havlicek was in the box seats behind us. We spent the whole game standing on our seats. That stadium was louder than any concert I went to until One Direction played "The Shoe" a few years ago. (it was a reward to my daughter for turning her grades around before we found out she's on the Autism Spectrum) My ears were ringing for a couple of days afterward. The game not the concert. I wore earplugs for the concert.

Daddyman Once more! With feeling! O-H!! This will be the first time in several years that one of my kids hasn't gotten me tickets for the game on my birthday weekend. But after the stormy Tulsa game and the 40th anniverary of Ohio State/Oklahoma I guess I could use a break. I felt like a bad luck charm with the Buckeyes losing again at home to Oklahoma but the 77 and 17 games were both great.

I'm sure he was in the ear of all the coaching staff.
DasBeav Am I the only one who cares about college football? O-H....?

I-O!!!
Glad to see the Buckeyes handed it to Oregon State Saturday. Was a little worried that with all the distractions, and not having Meyer on the sidelines that anything could happen.
Howdy! Aggie Football season tickets are always accounted for in the family budget! My wife and I are former students.
Gig ‘Em Aggies! Whoop!

God, Family, Models...
At the plate: 1/48 Airfix Bf109 & 1/35 Tamiya Famo
On deck: Who knows!
Well God forbid the Card loses to Davis. David Shaw is the winning leader as a coach at SU, so he is safe, probably Ron Gould too.
I think we play UW in the Pac 12 North Champ and we see where it goes from there.
All kinds of yap in the local news about how we stand up to Ohio State, Alabama etc. Probably not well, but it will be a fun Fall.
I remember when SDSU lost to Cal Poly San Luis Obispo... Not that we're a power team, but a division II school? Albeit a good one at the time. And we have Sac State next! Never look past a team. The Cardinal loosing to Davis would get that coached fired for sure. Washington is one to look at for sure. And never look past Utah
keavdog Well... started with a loss to Stanford. They Cardinal sure look good with that new QB and NFL ready wide receiver.

But.. the running backs coach Ron Gould who brought Marshawn Lynch, Shane Vareen and Jahvid Best up at Cal is now on the Farm.
I worry about the Huskies.
Could be the year Stanford wins the National Title. The game will be played 35 miles south of Palo Alto.
Well... started with a loss to Stanford. They Cardinal sure look good with that new QB and NFL ready wide receiver. As an Aztec optimist I see a lot of positives out of that game. New running back runs for158 yards. Defense holds to 50 yards total running but the secondary needs work and the penalties.... On to next Saturday. Go Aztecs!
Btw Utah State surely raised a few eyebrows at Michigan state... it's why I love college football.
Let's see what Appalachian state does at Penn St.
Still no interest in any sport.
It's another year, and my blood is still as maroon-tinted as it's always been. Will be tuning in to the SEC Network tomorrow night to watch the Aggies play what should be (on paper) a mere speed bump type of team.
Seeing my posts on this thread from a year ago ... grrrr, that loss to UCLA to open the season amid all the Hurricane Harvey stuff here in SE Texas at that time. I knew Kevin Sumlin would be fired after the way he allowed them to blow that massive lead. I remember watching all the games that followed, even went to a couple of them, but I was not really emotionally invested in those games.
When the Aggies hired Jimbo Fisher, my spirits for college football returned to normal levels, and I'm raring to go starting tomorrow night. I will be going to see them in person at Kyle Field against Louisiana Monroe, Mississippi and Louisiana State.
