Has anyone had a Twight Zone Moment?

True story folks. A while back the wife and I were going thru a bunch of her old photos and found one of me in front of a plane taken in the early 1980s at a Thunderbirds air show at Homestead AFB. The thing is that we didn’t meet each other till about a year or two later after the picture was taken. It doesn’t stop there, both our parents have the same first names and both of our kids have the same age difference as her brothers.

Hi,

Not really a "Twilight Zone Moment" but once as a kid I saw an IFO (that's kind of like a UFO, but it stuck around long enough for me to finally figure out what it was Stick out tongue).

Anyway, I was just a kid, and my Mom had to stop at the drugstore for something so I stayed in the car.  Whatever she was doing seemed to take forever (or at least seemed that way when I was a kid).  While just sitting there staring off in the distance I saw something in the sky with what seemed to be randonly blinking lights running around the top and bottom of it.  I could not for the life of me figure out what it coul be as it moved around for several minutes.

However, it eventually approached a little closer allowing me to see it from a little bit different angle, I finally was able to see that it was a small plane with a scrolling light up message ting around its wings a fuselage, kind of like the ones at this link.

IFO

So long story short, no alien invasion Sad

So she took the picture of the plane while you, a stranger, was just some guy standing there?

I have never had anything that odd that I can recall....unless I'm in the zone now. Indifferent

Pretty wild story.  I'd be looking through the rest of her photos!

Thanks,

No pictures to support it,but my parents and my in laws did take us to many of the same places as young kids, stores, restaurants and local attractions. We have always speculated that we could have encountered each other years earlier wothout knowing it.

Yep. I went with three other friends from work. My future wife was introduced by another friend’s wife almost 2 years later. She had several pictures of the air show and one had my image. Pretty wild.

Yes ;

When I was a kidlet , maybe about 7 , my Dad took me to a marina where some historic yacht was .I told him her complete layout before we got aboard for the tour . The original owners Son was in a picture in the wheelhouse . Dad stopped cold and stared at the photo and then me . I saw why .The two people in the photo could've been him and me .

We had a Photo from Christmas past on our mantel that even had US in the same pose ! The background was a big Coast Guard emblem . In Both Photos !

Well PFJN, twice I have seen lights in the distant sky that defies what an aircraft can do. Once in the late 70’s deep in South Dade County while patrolling a desolate stretch of the Tamiami Trail at 2 am. The second time was about 5 years ago while vacationing in Panama Beach by the Florida pan handle. The wife saw it too and we both stared at it in amazement. Years ago we had one of our uniformed units chasing what he described over the radio as a UFO. That was the talk for a while in the Department.

That is a pretty good Twilight Zone moment, Ernie.

Reminds me of a similar, but not nearly as strange one of mine.

I look pictures for my high school yearbook, and in my Freshman year took a picture of a baton twirler from a competing school at a football game one night. (I don't remember taking it). I think I had a crush on the girl, as the pic remained in my 'special drawer' in my bedroom.

A couple years later, a policeman friend of mine introduced me to a fellow officer's daughter because they both thought we should hook up for some reason. We ended up dating and eventually marrying. Yeah, it was the same girl and I didn't even discover it 'til some time later digging through that drawer.

Not quite a Cinderella story though, we divorced at 30 yrs married. Smile Hey, maybe that is the Twighlight Zone part!

Maybe not twilight, but getting close to dusk.....

First wife and I were together for around 11 years, and split up.  Second wife and I were together for just short of 30, and they were best friends.  When second wife passed away 4 years ago, first and I started talking more two years later.  Now back together and she thinks second wife brought us back to each other.

Thank you PJ.  little side note....since they were best friends, I couldn't get away with anything, there weren't any secrets!

She had several strokes and turned into kind of a hoarder, now the first and I are clearing things out.  Her cremains fell on first's foot and she said "enough out of you, out on enclosed porch til I get done in here."

Years ago we had one of our uniformed units chasing what he described over the radio as a UFO. That was the talk for a while in the Department.

I had seen something at about age 10, and I am not making this up. I hate to even mention it because you get labeled a kook. I stayed silent about it for a long time because I figured no-one would believe me. That remains true. But, once and a while I'll go out on a limb and recount what happened. What I had seen haunted me for years, and it started a lifelong fascination on the subject.

It happened on my cousins farm, in a very rural area of WI. It was at night, the object was disc shaped, or like an inverted spoon. It was luminous, moving through the sky slowly, silently, and it traveled like it was riding on invisible rails. It didn't waiver in the least. It looked like it was metallic in nature, but that the craft was electrified producing an orange glow. Unfortunately, I was the only one there at the time to see it. My parents, cousins, and siblings were in the house. They had just gone in maybe 5 minutes earlier. Had they stayed outside a little longer, nearly 8 others would have seen it. The object disappeared behind a tree line.

This is where it gets really weird.

Nearly 1 year later my aunt phoned our house in a panic. This is the same family and farm that I had my sighting. My Mom got the call and she had the look on her face of not knowing what to say. My aunt, and three of her kids had just witnessed a craft hovering over their cows. If their story is accurate, they watched it for 10 minutes after which it lifted up into the sky and then shot off.

Two of the kids said that they had seen it again a few months later. They were home  at the time, alone. It scared them so much that they locked the doors and windows of the house. My aunt came home to find the house locked up tight, in the sweltering heat of summer, no air-conditioning in that house, and the boys cowering in the basement.

I am not saying that there are aliens. I am merely recounting what happened. We must draw on our own conclusions.

Bakster, I’m convinced we are not alone in this universe. I know what I saw and the second sighting my wife was with me and she too was freaked out so it’s not like I imagined it.

I believe you 100%. I know what I saw as well. And I bet, many others have had experiences too. Most don't want to talk about it. Thanks for sharing your story...

Back around '73 wife and her ex were elk hunting up in the NE corner of OR, and had someting huge slowly cruise overhead.  Said it was well lit, and had a half dozen "escorts".  Disappeared in a hurry and about 10 minutes later a pair of fighters came over going in the same direction, and running at what I suspect was full mil power as she said she didn't see any afterburners.

Another party of hunters came running over to their camp yelling and screaming asking if they saw that......reply was ---saw what?  She said they ran back, threw everything in their rigs, campers and trailers and in 15 minutes were gone, only thing left was the dust hanging in the air.

As wee tot,,the tender age of 2yrs maybe, my next door neighbor girl was a cute little blonde. Her name according to the picture caption was,(is?), Crystal Truelove. The picture showed me helping her pull up her diaper. PLEASE READ I WAS MAYBE 2YRS OLD so.... Anyway fast forward 3 decades and my now wife of 18plus yrs is named Crystal.. No she isn't the little neighbor girl and unfortunately she is one thing I don't remember from then however I would like to think of my wife as my "Truelove". Longest relationship I have had with anybody my entire life....parents included.

Interesting... Also interesting that these sightings occurred in the 70s. It was a very active time for them. Mine was around 1970.

Interesting stories. The only Twilight Zone moment I can claim was when I bought the complete DVD collection of the original series with special features never broadcast on TV.

Yes guys looks like the 70’s were busy with this activity.  What I find interesting is that the one sighting we had off Panama City  5 to 6 years ago has several military bases nearby like Pensacola NAS, Mcdill, Eglin, and Tyndall AFB yet no aircraft was sent out to investigate. That light was doing crazy things at high altitude for a good 20 minutes defying gravity then from a stopped suspended position streaked off in a blink of an eye to the NW. I‘m no pilot but that light was doing things no aicraft as we know can do.

Funny story brought to mind by plasticjunkie.  When my son was about 3, we took a driving trip to Florida to see his uncle graduate.  On the way, another uncle gave my son Harry.  We left Harry on the bed in the hotel room, and found out later he caused one of the cleaning crew to run screaming from the room.  Later, Harry was riding in the front seat with me, since my wife and son were in the back.  We pulled under the overhang in front of the hotel, and my wife and son went inside to register.  I noticed a woman peering into the car, so I grabbed Harry's hand and waved at her.  She jumped, then laughed.

This is Harry.

Any chance the photo was taken by someone you know, given to you, and the picture just ended up in the pile of your wife's photos?

Hi,

I was recently reminded of another almost-but not really "Twilight Zone" moment that I had a few years ago.

I currently work just across the river from Washington DC, in Crystal City, VA and at the time had a West facing window.  Late one afternoon/early evening, on a day with a vibratly colored sunset, I could just barely make out a shape high in the sky.  I can't fully remember all the details, but I seem to recall that it was barely a slightly lighter hue than the sky behind it.  Interestingly, when I pointed it out to others some could see it but others couldn't.

Eventually I found out from one guy in the office, that the government actually has (or at least was conducting trials with) some high-altitude low-observable surveillance blimps and that this may have been one of them.  Apparently the combination of the later day sunlight  and such may have been just enough to make it ever so slightly visible.  [That is, unless he was lying to me, and it was actually an alien mothership after all Indifferent]
