Aw, I didn't know.

RIP, indeed.

I was also saddened by the passing of Mrs Bush not so long ago.

So may you both RIP, happily, together.

One of my favorite Presidents. Sad to see him go. However, he's with Babs.

I could be wrong, unless Carter was in in the forces, Bush was the last of the WW II vets

I stand corrected. Bush was the LAST WW2 era President that served during the war. Carter served during the Korean Conflict.

Jimmy Carter was in the Naval Academy from 1943 on. He is a WWII era vet, but not a WWII combat vet. Had he washed out of Annapolis for academic reasons, he would have been taken into active duty forces according to the needs of the service.

Rest in peace HW. You served your time in harms way.

I hope everyone got to see the wonderful cartoon with Mr President, Mrs First Lady, Robin, and GW's TBM by Marshall Ramsey yesterday.

If not, here is a link for your convenience.

Not often I get teared up by a cartoon.

I am an Independent and I typically vote as a Democrat. However, I did vote for Regan and for Mr Bush for his first term. I thought that he handeled Desert Storm in a masterful manner. He also delt with the fall of the Soviet Union and the unification of Germany as a true statesman. Think about it. He could have called  Mr. Gorbachev and stuck a stick in his eye, "We won,we won,we won. You lost, you lost, you lost." But no. Instead Mr. Bush shook  Gorbachev's hand and asked if he could help. Mr. Bush had all the features of a president. He told the truth, did not make up untruths, was a moral man, welcomed immigrants and was a great leader that tried to unify this country.

Rest in Peace Mr. Bush

President G.H.W. Bush 41 was an exceptional and decent man who by experience was fully qualified to be commander and chief of the United States.

The Navy posted a great tribute and final watch call.

That was awesome. Also another with George standing next to his wheelchair giving Barbara a kiss was emotional as well. The funeral was one of the best state funerals I can recall. Seeing W get emotional was touching.
