2019 Annual FSM ReaderSurvey-anyone else take it?
Posted by the Baron on Thursday, January 31, 2019 12:55 PM

I tried, but none of the answers to question 7, ""Which of the following actions have you taken in the past 12 months as a result of reading an ad in FineScale Modeler?  (check all that apply)" applied to me.  So I didn't select any, but I couldn't save the survey without selecting at least one answer.  That's a content bug in the survey.  In fact, since question 6 is, "On average, how many ads do you read in each issue? (check one only)", and one of the answers is "None", then the survey should be crafted to hide question 7, if the answer to 6 is "None".

The earlier questions in the survey seem crafted to try to sound out how many of us are still working with hard copy as opposed to digital copy, too.

I just realized, too, that the question about our favorite periods of history skips the 18th Century.  It goes from Medieval to Napoleonic.  That's a content bug, too.  If you're interested in the American Revolution, forget it.

No free text catch-all at the end, either.  That would have been a good idea to have.

The bigger the government, the smaller the citizen.

I haven't seen it.

Building a kit from your stash is like cutting a head off a Hydra, two more take it's place.

I'm not a subscriber so I guess it wouldn't be for me.

My answer to Q 7- I spent hours of my life I'll never get back defeating a banner ad here for a stupid T-shirt company. Finally I had to paste their URL into my blocker settings.

Modeling is an excuse to buy books.

Just finished it. Don't think there was anything special in it one way or the other.

Yeah, I took the survey. I think I could have concocted a better one. I seldom respond to ads anymore than I respond to commercials on TV. One thing for sure: I definitely want to keep my hard copy magazine! If the printed magazine goes away, they will probably lose me.

OK. In the stash: Way too much to build in one lifetime...

I really enjoy the printed magazine. I do not read digital newspapers or magazines.
