Shot over the Bow!!!!
Posted by Tanker - Builder on Thursday, March 28, 2019 6:53 AM

Yep!

Tuesday got a shot over the Bow . Just Cruising along and Boom ! A TIA ! That's a Transient Ischemic Attack ! In other words a Stroke warning Shot . Geez , I thought I was doing everything the medicos said .Guess I wasn't . Now, I am okay, but a little slower to heat up ( I hope so ) and have to be careful to not get embroiled in stressful situations .

This old Swabbie/Jarhead ain't gonna give up yet ! I will still build models and all that .I will however take my time and be sure I don't get embroiled in anything that might trigger the Big Guns . Catchya later ! A humbled T.B.      P.S. I am okay now , Just intentionally going slower .

Hey guys and Gals .Thank You .I will continue to be your friendly irritant as long as I can .Thank you for caring. That lifts my spirits way up .

Take care, friend.

TB

I know there wasn't a request for any advice but on several occasions my spring has gotten wound pretty tight

Yoga has helped me unwind.  Not so much the standing on my head type of stuff but more the breathing and purposeful relaxation.

Helped get the bp down a few notches too.  I'm not a doctor not even play one on tv but your posts and replies have helped me on several occasions. Consider this an attempt at some payback.

Keep 'er cool, man.  Cool

Glad you are ok, I totally agree with the Yoga and meditation.

TB, I hope your feeling better. TIA's are scary as hell, aren't they? I had one myself a couple of weeks ago. After a bunch of tests, they found out that one of my carotid arteries is 80-90% clogged. I'll be going in for surgery to 'unclog' it in two weeks. I'm assuming that they did the same littany of tests on you. Did they find anything that they think could have caused the TIA?

Oh Boy;

Yeah they found the culprit .A blood clot not much bigger than the period at the end of this sentence.Recovery going fine. This call for a re-adjustment of my pacemaker and new meds .Eliquis . The clot came from the surgery site inside and on the top of the repaired damage to my heart when they fixed an unblown Anuerism they found by accident !

I'm going to see the doc this morning for blood test follow up. Good to be looked over.

Hopefully that'll keep me alive for another stretch.

Hey " G "

Don't be making any dates with the Purty Wimmin like I do ! I get so outrageous with the Drs. staff I have them in stitches afore I leave . My life rule number one is this .After adhering to rules one through ten ( can't tell ya ) then Daily rule one .Make at least twelve folks smile or laugh Before Noon .

More aspirin and single malt scotch, TB!

Gentle walking excersise will help, not a full on gym session. Also try reading books (novels) and listening to more classical and easy listening music. Mozart is particularly good for heart patients so research has it and it certainly helps me, as well as getting lost in a big build where you have to make many plans. RFM's Panther/Jagdpanther with the interiors are really good to focus the attention and dial back the stress that messes with your heart. Many times I have Mozart in my ears and plastic on the bench and the clockwork in the chest just relaxes!

Gary,

A couple of Emails on the way to you. Maybe help get your mind on some other things.

And Keep those DR's and RN's in stitches, it's good for you too.

     Take care.
