A post about nothing
Posted by Bakster on Thursday, April 18, 2019 6:04 PM

I don't expect this post to get a lot of traction. Pretty much a, what the heck is Bakster yammering about now. But, I am compelled to celebrate, and sometimes it's the stupid stuff that makes the most sence in this crazy world.

It's been a rough month or so, and Bakster is celebrating a weekend of rest. I am off work tomorrow, and doing so with a clear conscience. My biggest customer is closed for Easter and I can take a day off of work without my worrying about what in the world will explode while I am gone. Been there, done that.

So, Bakster has a Rum & Coke, stir fry, and IPad in hand. Boy, what trouble I can get into now.

Cheers everyone. I hope you have a great Easter weekend.

Steve

This gets a lot of traction with me.

Sometimes I'll take a day off and just think about work  Tongue Tied- might as well have went to work.  Other times when i can actually let go, it's the best.

I actually have an open calendar for a few hours tomorrow night and will able to clear my head and get to the important stuff.

Enjoy your time off!

Happy Easter and Passover, everyone.

Easter is this weekend? Really? I had no clue. I wonder if this is the dawn of the new day of retirement, or just me losing my mind? Probably a little of both.

Good for you, my friend the Bakster. You lay back, lay low, lay high, do whatever the heck you feel like doing. Yes I wish you a peaceful holiday weekend.

You’re doing it all wrong. Having worked damn near 30 years with same employer, I’ve learned a long time ago whenever I get days off, I shut my mind off work completely. Don’t think about it. Focus on family and to hell with work and the boss for a day, week, or however many days you take off. Worked for me all these years. Out of sight, out of mind.

Oh yeah... Happy Easter everyone!

Greg! You crack me up man!

Hey buddy. Guess what I am gonna do tomorrow morning? Yes...you guessed it. I will treat myself to a good breakfast at a local restaurant. Then, come home and get a little bench time in.

Thanks Greg. I wish you a peacefull weekend as well...

PS: You know that age thing and forgetting things? Well, I kind of like it. It comes in handy sometimes if I screw up. "I'm old and confused! What do you expect!" Ha!

Absolutely. I'm using the crutch a lot, maybe too much. Stick out tongue Seriously, I think a big reason I forget things is because my priorities are different and I don't care so much anymore about things like dates, celebrities names, whether I ate dinner or not, whether that was a fluff or a bowel movement, my name, etc......

You got my attention regarding going out for breakfast. That's my man. Yes

Again, we are the same in that. I really don’t care about that stuff. And if you don’t care about it, you don’t remember it. So true.

And btw... breakfast was good. We have a lot of a Greek Restaurants around here and I went to one not far from where my childhood home was. When I say not far, I mean literally. It is a stones throw. Our house was torn down by the buyer and replaced with a bank. Our neighbors home torn down as well and replaced with what was a Burger King. Now it is a Greek Restaurant. Anyway, overall, it was tasty.

The sun came out today. Wow. I have not seen blue skies around here in a long time. It’s windy though, and still not all that warm. The warm temps are coming though. Thank goodness. We had 5 inches of snow last Sunday. Old man winter is not giving up easily.

After doing 30 years in Law Enforcement, I'm so glad I'm retired and don't have to worry about mine or someone else's safety out there. Been retired since 06 and my biggest stress right now is deciding which model to build first, which gun to take to the range or if the next bottle of MM enamel I open is gonna be bad  Tongue Tied LOL!

Seriously, life is too short and we need to slow down and smell the pancakes. This Easter Sunday morning, the wife and I plan to go to church and thank the Lord for our health and what we have.

Happy Easter to all.

Yeah--that is a huge stressor and one that a person can't easily blow off.

It’s very liberating. It’s a time in a persons life where you just don’t give a (beep). I messed up what? Oh... well, I’m old. I used that line on my boss once. He smiled and said nothing. He is older too! And let me tell ya, he could use that line a lot! Ha!
