Checkmateking 02;

That looks like a slightly furrier version of my Sam . Sam is part Siamese and she lets anyone know it. Modeling ? I put the Box Top on the floor near me and she's happy. She climbs in and falls asleep.

If she ever figures out the Box she sleeps in isn't the model I am building she might raise a howl. But the lovingest animal friend I've ever had. Very responsive to this old man's aches and pains . Ever had a Purr Massage? Makes the shoulders feel great ! T.B.

Hey TB, I am taking notes about the box. That is a really good idea. That way kitty is close to the action and content in the cat trap.

You mentioned a purr massage. When Sammiecat was visiting he'd like to make it known it's time to get up. Usually, around the time I had to get up. He would have been a good alarm clock. Cats have an incredible instinct for things like that. Anyway, he'd walk around the pillow meowing and occasionally, when I didn't respond, walk over my back. It was pure bliss for an aching back. I told him, Sam, a little to the left. Unfortunately, he wasn't having any of that. It was time to get up.

LOL!!!

UnwaryPaladin

Just give him the model's box. It will keep him busy for hours.

Good idea, TB.  I'll have to give it a try, although most 1/72 boxes are too small for her to fit in.  Archie and her brother, Lon, came from the local human society, so I don't know what kind of cats they are.  My daughter got them, now has moved to North Carolina, and left me as guardian ad litem.

Hmm all these cats and Timmy is nowhere to be found, I wonder if he fell into one of them cat traps himself. Btw has anyone heard from him? I'm not a cat person but I do have three dogs, my beagle I've had since he was 4weeks the mother abandoned them, he's got separation issues and don't like to be alone. He's by my side from the time I get home till I have to go to work again. He's got a dog bed in my model room and as I work he's laying there, if I'm on the other side of the room on the computer he'll drag his bed over there. The only time he runs out is when I'm airbrushing the compressor scares him.

Funny you should say that about Tim. He was on my mind when I started this thread. I have not heard from him. Last I heard he had wrangled with his internet provider, then dropped them. So, no internet except when he'd get access at hotspots and such.

Feel free to post an image of your beagle. All pets are welcome here.

For grins, here are a few images of Sammie. In the second image he is enjoying the snow come down.

Sammie is very cute! Here's my cat, Getty, taking over my bench. It's a constant battle with cat hair but I don't mind.

Hey Griffin, that's a hoot. Getty is a cutie too. You just gotta love em because they want to be near you.

Thanks for sharing!!!

PS: If you have any funny stories about Getty, feel free to share.

Cute calico.  These cat's and models are so fun.  I have a little pomeranian/bichon mix that hardly comes in the room.  I think the smells offend her.  Purrcilla loves it and mostly stays off the bench.  Now cat hair in the finish is irritating.

Thanks,

John

Our dog used to love to chew on almost anything, but we have her trained now. So being the smart person I thought I was, I would model in the basement. Jenny (the dog), being unsure of stairs would not venture down. Not so for the two cats as they just love to help me with the small tools and especially any opportunity to chew on the brush bristles. Now I have to keep my hobby area in the basement secure from pets (lesson learned).

Still, you have to love thier curious nature and thier want to be with you all the time.

Here is Jenny...

I knew a guy that would use cat whiskers for 1/72 armor antennas.

Thanks,

John

By the way...just today....

P.S.- Would whiskers ever work for 1/35 tanks?

Our two cats used to shed their whiskers all over the house. I still have a container with about 50 to 75 whiskers (both black and white) of various lengths left. They accept paint and marking pen ink very well. And the answer to the question is that they are great for 1/35 armour. I use them all the time. Never broke one or lost one yet. They give the look of motion to the model.

PS - They are great for whip antennas on older police cars and CB antennas on cars. If you shorten them for other types, they flex well and don't get knocked off easily.

I keep hitting "escape", but I'm still here.

Yes the cat's whiskers would work great on 1/35 scale tanks as the whip antennae .Don't ,however, take one from the source though. Wait till you find a loose one. They're in the carpet I bet !

One of my older friends who has built Aircraft said his Cats favorite toys were 1/48 fighter plane Drop-Tanks.  They bounce nice, don't roll straight, and are a perfect size apparently.

I guess all his P-51's & F6F's were short range models.

Also very interesing. Who’d a thunk. Strange though. In all the 18 years I had my cat I only recall finding one or two whiskers. I found plenty of vomit, cat hair, and other things, but few whiskers.  But, I wasn’t looking.  I probably caught them up in the vac!

Is that a little Rottweiler?  Eats models whole.  Back in the 80s a friend of mine had one that ate my pager.  Best sleep I had in weeks

Thanks,

John
