Not planning on buying it.  Got the ad because I donated to the restoration of the bird a couple of years ago.

I can use that $ to buy more headaches in the form of PE for stash kits.

Like I said, it’s fine for someone who never done a model kit. $100 plus shipping is a lot for a die cast kit. But it’s not your money to spend. Let’s not bash him for it. If he liked it, God bless him for it. Enjoy it.

The first thing I noticed was the panel lines on the die cast model were far too fat and deep.  That makes it look more like a toy, than a scale model.  No thanks.

 

That is to be expected. Most die cast models do look like toys but to the average Joe who doesn’t know nothing about the hobby (not directly at you  goldhammer) would buy it.

Cole was not pilot of Thats All Brother nor did he take part in Overlord.

After Doolittle he returned to the China/Burma/India Theatre and flew the Hump.   Per his presentation a few years back when I met him and his Air Force Times obituary, in June 43 he joined Project 9/First Air Commandos which was also a CBI based unit 

The die cast C-47 release timing is rather due to the upcoming DDay anniversary.  The Commemorative Air Force’s That’s All Brother will be participating. 

No, was just putting it out there for those that might be interested.  Panel lines are huge as well

Alsaso not to be a "Richard" but the nose on the diecast one looks a little pointy.
